Too much hype this year in college football...all across the board. Just let the kids play already.
I could care less about any of these overhyped athletes. College football should not fall into the ego trap that the NFL has.

Its so sad, I remember the year Joey Harrington was hyped to win the Hiesman and someone took out a billboard for him. Also, ASU should be taking down those Rose Bowl billboards right about now after the embarrassing showing against NAU.
I thought ND showed a lot of character in the 2nd half of that game.

I thought ND showed a lot of character in the 2nd half of that game.
They scored 14 pts for the game, and barely beat an unranked team.
ND better step it up cause their schedule gets alot tougher. I simply don't think Quinn is as great as people think.

His oline was non existent pretty much the whole game.
Wait a few games...that guy is gonna be a STUD

3TDs and 3ints ouch. Some people actually thought this guy was better than Leinart. So much for Weis being a offensive genious. It is always a good Saturday when ND loses.

Not the fact that he isn't a very good player, but it was more the fact that Michigan's defense brought their A++++ game. Simply amazing.

It's never that the defense played amazing, and it's always that the QB sucks isn't it native? Wake up just a little and realize how that game went. Quinn threw 3 int's, and only 1 was a bad pass. he is still a great QB right now, ran into a defense playing amazing, but hate all you want, we know your lacking info here.

The defense did play well but can you name the last ND QB that turned out to do well in the NFL? Quinn has looked average or worse in his last 3 out of 4 games dating back to the Fiesta Bowl last year. I guess the defenses all were top notch.

well I don't know if Georgia Tech is top nothc. They are decent, but can't say top notch. He did play the BEST defense in college in the Fiesta Bowl, a very very good one in Penn State, and played pretty well, and a very good one yesterday that played amazing againt the ND offense, and he still had 3 TD's, and 2 of those INT's weren't totally his fault. 1 not at all his fault.

And about the good NFL QB's from there, they havent had anyone good there since Mirer, and other than him, nobody else got hyped and failed. So that's really no different than so many other schools sending QB's to the NFL.

No one was talking about Brady Quinn until Jaba the Weis got there. Now all of a sudden he is projected to be the number 1 overall pick. If you can't tell I am totally biased, and really can't stand ND and hope they lose every game this year.

I didn't watch that game but from the highlight clips I seen two of the passes hit the WR's in a bad spot....right in the hands and they tipped it to defenders.
I still say Quinn is WAAYYY over hyped. He is a good QB but not great like some are making him out to be.

That is funny.
So according to you, Charlie Weiss is wrong in his evaluation of Brady Quinn.
Charlie, a very good O. Coordinator in the NFL and has won Super Bowls and has seen Bledsoe and Brady up close says he is going to be very good in the NFL because of his height, arm strength and understanding of the QB position.
But YOU say he is not a very good player..... OK.

That is Quinns fault. He is not a good QB according to native az.
Brady should have thrown it and caught it too.
Quinn sucks.

Another fabulous big game by Brady Quinn. Can't wait to see this kid get into the pros and fall flat on his face. I will look to Oakland to draft the biggest qb bust since Leaf.
I can't think of one big game Quinn has performed well in.

I have to agree with you as I've never really been all that impressed with Quinn. However, it seems like a vast majority of people out there have been and he will be one of the top picks in the draft. I, personally would take Russell over him.....but that's just me.

I could see him being Losman, but would you really spend a first rounder on Losman?
Hey his coach, ya know the media proclaimed best coach in college, says he's the greatest QB ever.
He also shares part of his name with NE QB Tom Brady.
And he tears up every military academy and subpar d1 school imaginable.
Of course he's special...LOL
I'm so tired of being spoon fed the crap about Brady Quinn and the crap about Charlie Weiss in the college ranks it's ridiculous. Let the man produce one great college QB who pans out in the NFL before we start given him all the credit alone for Tom Brady and act like everything he touches turns to gold.

I think the ONLY way that Brady Quinn will EVER be a GREAT NFL QB is if he gets snubbed like another college #10,taken in the 7th round, and has a humungous chip on his shoulder.

Won't happen, some dummy (Millen) will overlook that the guy has played bad in every big game he has had and will draft him in the first.
I am also tired of everyone talking about how smart Weiss is, wait till next year when they take a step back. I wonder if he will get the Willingham treatment or will they give Jaba another extension

Native, you have never shown to have much of a worthy opinion when judging players, so your opinion on Quinn should be taken lightly. You rip into him for his play, but he generally has played pretty well in all his big games, but his defense just about always lets him down, and last night, his receivers couldn't have caught a cold. They dropped everything that hit them in the numbers, but of course, the genious that you are, blames it all on Quinn. He is regarded as a high draft pick because of his skills and abilities, which are above any other QB currently in college.
I just remember when you spent an entire couple days ripping on Cutler when Shanahan made the switch, and he performed pretty **** well, doing something no other rookie QB has done in his first 4 starts.

That's good news for detroit then. They don't play in big games anyways. LOL

i don't agree with Native on alot of things and despite the fact that Cutler did have 2 td passes in each of his first 4 starts it doesn't really mean that he played well and having stuck watched the Broncos more than i wanted to Cutler wasn't playing great or even good. He was severly inconsistent but the thing that saved him is that he wasn't Rex Grossman inconsistent where one game good one game bad. Cutler was more like one half bad and one half better.

This is funny. Please go back and quote where I said Cutler would not be good. I said it was a mistake to pull Plummer and go with a rookie and I was totally right. The Donkeys were well within making the playoffs while the Fake was at the helm. Cutler comes in and loses to 2 of the weakest teams in the NFC and both loses were at home.
Quinn is overrated just like the team he plays for and the kid has not played and won in any big game in his carrier. At least Cutler beat Tennessee when he was in college, who the hell has Quinn beaten; oh wait he does have multiple wins over the academy schools. Way to go Mie.....I mean Quinn.

Well native, let's see.since he's so bad in big games. Against USC this year, he goes 22 of 45 for 274, 3 TD's, 0 int. Not a great completion percentage, but everything else good, and his defense gives up 44 points and they get crushed, but he did a lot for the offense. He was also amazing against Michigan State when they were down a ton, not a big game, but a huge comeback.
Last season against Michigan, doesn't throw for a lot of yards, but 2 TD's, 0 int and leads them to a win. Nearly leads his team to a huge win against USC last year. Throws for nearly 300 yards on 29 of 45 against Ohio State, but of course, his defense plays pitiful and they get beat down.
He hasnt been incredibly spectacular in some of the other big games, but he has won some games, and lost many of those big games due to the terrible play by his defense, something he cannot control.
This is all why your opinions should mean so little, because you put the entire blame on him when he loses a game, when in reality, much of it is due to his defense giving up well over 40 points, forcing him to throw it over 40 times in those big games, and QB stats are not ever going to be great when they must throw it that many times against top 10 teams.
Oh, and learn to spell the other quarterbacks name who you compare him to correctly. It's MIRER, not Mie, or however the hell you keep spelling it.

You should read my post again. Not a big win to speak of. The fact that you cite all those loses and then throw in MSU (they fired their coach this year) says all you need on Quinn. I don't blame him for their loses but he helped contribute to them. He can't seem to settle down in the first quarter of big games. Overthrows or underthrows recievers regularly and panics during blitzes. Imagine what he will see in the NFL as far as speed and talent.
I don't need to spell Mier's name right, the guy is selling realestate somewhere for some booster of the school.

Spider, they are never going to get it.....Brady will be a great NFL QB, anyone with a brain should see that. Brady did very well in the USC/Notre Dame game....against a very fast, physical defense - didn't the Michigan coach just say that USC was the best defense they played against?? Yet Brady played well, very well. The big concerns for this game was centered on Quinn, he was as expected, his D just did not show up.
Hopefully Spider the stupidity will flow over during the pre-draft process for our boy Brady, I will pray, as I did with Matt, that Detroit and Oakland pass the kid by....to a better team that will trade up and do anything they can to get him.
Yeah, Brady sucks......and Matt has a noodle arm and Vince is to stupid to play in the NFL.

Only a tool won't admit when he is wrong. Please give it up. Quinn is nowhere near what you thought he was. He slid all the way to the 22nd pick in the draft. He is basically Jason Campbell, Aaron Rodgers status.
Stop fooling yourself.

You show complete lack of knowledge about the sport of football with your posts about this. You say because a guy drops ALL THE WAY to the 22nd overall pick he's a dud. You're somewhat of a *****. There are well over 200 total picks, and he was 22nd, when most of the teams drafting before that were not in dire need of a quarterback. You'll see in a couple years how good he really is and then be sitting there eating your words finding some other good player to bash on just because you don't like him.
