With all the trash talking and the negativity going around I thought I would start a positive thread. So I wanna pose a question to all the CARDINAL fans.
What is your #1 favorite Cardinal memory?
Beating Dallas in the playoffs was ******* sweet but for me my #1 favorite memory was a game back in 96 against Philly. (sorry ripper)
The Cards scored a touchdown to go up by 9 with like 1:30 left in the game. Game over right? lol not for the Cards. The ******* Eagles ran the insuing kickoff back for a touchdown!!! It's ok right? We're still up by 2, there's no way they get the onside kick right? WRONG, not only did they get it, but they ran that back for a touchdown too! lol, I couldn't believe it, the only thing that saved us was that the kicking team cant advance an onside if they recover so they just got it from the spot. That didn't stop them from gaining a few yards and kicking a field goal to go up by 1 with :42 seconds left.
NOOOO, I couldn't believe it, I thought all was lost.
But then, THE MAN BOOMER ESIASON came into the game. :42 seconds, NO timeouts, blown lead? NO PROBLEM! Would you believe the man drove us right down the field and threw a TOUCHDOWN pass with a few seconds left to WIN THE GAME! It was so awesome, talk about a roller coaster.
The funniest thing about that was after we scored, there were still a few seconds left on the clock which meant WE HAD TO KICKOFF AGAIN! lol I swear you could have heard a pin drop in that stadium from the time we kicked off again and the guy finally got tackled and the game was over.
I'll never forget it, it was awesome!

Yeah the 98 playoffs were tops for me too. Living in Northwest Iowa there are tons of Vikings fans here who I get crap from all of the time so my second favorite has to be the 4th and 26 at the end of the game against Minnesota where they had to win to get into the playoffs. The Vikings guy calling the game was classic "TOUCH......TOUCHDOWN!?!?!?NNOOOOO!!THE CARDINALS HAVE ELIMINATED THE VIKINGS!". Ah classic.:Cards logo:

Great post booman. It's nice to see someone be positive about the Cards once in a while.
All these fans from other teams come in here trash talking about how bad we suck and wonder why we are Cards fans. Like they have never given us any good memories.
Listen, the Cards have broken my heart a thousand times but they have also given us some amazing memories in the process. The thing you remember, when you lose a lot, the wins are that much sweeter.
My #1 memory is the Game where we beat the Chargers to get into the playoffs. When Jacke made that field goal and we all rushed the field, it was so amazing. The players hung out on the field and celebrated with the fans, it was like a college game. Really really awesome!
Looking fwd to many more great memories Redbirds!!!

In a 1988 home game, we came from behind to beat the king-of-the-hill 49ers in the last two minutes of the game. I was sitting about five rows from the NEZ and the magic unfolded right in front of me. The Cardiac Cards have had their moments - that one was my favorite. My wife's is the last play win over Minnesota spoiling their playoff hopes; the Vikes fans were being particular obnoxious that day and she felt that the Cards gave them their just desserts. Kinda reminds me of some of the Bear Trolls this week. Chicago isn't bullet proof. "Any Given Monday" GO CARDS!

Ahh yes, the original comeback win! That was awesome! And thus the Cardiac Cards were born!

I wish I could take credit for that, but I didn't make it. There's someone out there reliving all kinds of sports events old video game style.
Unfortunately, I didn't go to that Minnesota game. Actually, about 8 of my friends and I went and tailgated it, and headed to get tickets, but we were running behind because my friend's girlfriend (GRRRRR). Well, the ticket line was ridiculous, and we wouldn't have made it in until probably the end of the first quarter, so we went to a bar in north scottsdale called Goldie's and I had the hottest wings of my life.
Anways, I remember after the afternoon games were over, they jumped to the end of the AZ game, and like all of us and the whole bar erupted when we saw what happened. It was great, but I am still pissed that she made us miss the game.

Mine was that year we beat Dallas (sorry, can't remember the year) and everyone was so amped about it that a bunch of people rushed the field and tore down the goal posts! Security wasn't expecting it since it was just a regular season game and was completely unprepared for what happened.
I still remember the vision of a huge gang of people marching out of the stadium, carrying the goal post.
I heard they ended up stuck in the dirt in the Rio Salado River Bed. :toot:
Mine was getting to the playoffs and beating the team I hate.

Well you see if I was a Boys fan and you had presented the playoff thing I would fire back with something stupid, but if a proud memory comes around of your team at the expense of mine then that's alright with me.
That day: 11-24-06 Arizona won 36-30 what a thriller. Of course your team is 54-53-5 against mine all time.
Take care Boo

I will never forget when Chris Jacke made that field goal to beat the Chargers and we made it to the playoffs. I can still hear Tom Dillon in my headset saying GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was truly an awesome moment.
Next was when we beat Dallas. I remember Larry Centers had a key reception late in the game to ice it for us and how happy we were. I also remember calling all my Dallas Cowboy loving friends voicemails (they wouldnt answer their phones!) on the way home and screaming with joy into their voice mails. Wow, that was great!!!

Mine hasn't happened yet. Im looking forward to the day that we shellac the Broncos the way they did us in the late 80's 37-7 in front of a majority crowd of Denver fans at SDS. I really hate them guys......
Most memorable up until now though would have to be the Giants game in about 1995 when it was so fricking cold it was snowing in some parts of the valley. We were all drinking whiskey on the 50 yard line, all the fans ,,, Giants and Cards fans together were just diggin it cause it was so cold. Then after another Giants game ( a different year ) some clown Giants fan got mazed from a horse cop from about 30 on a dead sprint for fighting,,, I thought that was worth the price of admission. :clapping:

favorite memory - that's tough to pinpoint
- '87 against Tampa when we were down 28-3 and came back to score 28 points in the 4th quarter alone to win it in St. Louis.
- '88 at home against the 49ers to win 24-23 in Tempe.
- '98 season along with beating the Cowboys at Dallas 20-7
- '84 home game against Ditka's Bears that featured NFC's #1 offense (Cardinals) vs. NFC's #1 defense (Bears) and Cardinals won the game 38-21 pulling away in the 2nd half.
- '86 preseason brawl against the Bears at Soldier Field in which Perry slammed Lomax on a sack which started the bad blood throughout the game and the Big Red won again over Ditka and the '87 preseason game in which we beat the Bears on Monday Night Football which was a direct consequence of the '86 fiasco in preseason made for good viewing as well.
- '83 game against Seattle in which Roy Green caught 4 TD's in one half in St. Louis.

The Dallas Wild Card game was the best...NO ONE thought we had a chance in hell to win. We whipped them 20-7 in their own stadium, too!
Unfortunately we then lost to Denny's Vikings who were 15-1 that year, and they went on to choke their way out of the SB against Reeves' Falcons.(Hmm)
But doing the impossible and getting by Dallas gave everyone so much hope about winning the division next year...EVERY analyst picked us to run away with the division. But it wasn't in the Cards

Great post! Thanks for all those memories. I was at those home games in St Louis you cited. I remember the 4th quarter comeback game against Tampa Bay, there were only about 2000 of us left in the stands to see that comeback. I remember how bizzare it was to have a great comeback like that and have the stadium almost empty.

Yes it was, I was at SDS with my Dad and best friend. My Dad who is from Wisconson and a big Green Bay fan forked out the cash for all three of us at the last minute! He said that if the Cards made the playoffs he wanted to be there when hell froze over. LOL He was happy for them when they did though.

Living 5000 miles away from Phoenix, my fave memory is away from SDS, or in fact 1000s of miles from any NFL stadium.
It was in 1988, when the UKs NFL highlights show brought news that the Cardinals were moving to Phoenix. I was watching the show with a couple of friends.
Now you guys are going to have to bear in mind, that moving a club in this country is treasonable. I cant think of a bigger no-no in sport. Only two teams have done it, to my knowledge. Arsenal and Wimbledon. Arsenal was nearly a century ago but I remember the Wimbledon move to Milton Keynes and the furor that surrounded it.
OK so in 1988 with Arsenal established as a North London side, the news to us was shocking in the extreme. My buddies were coming out with all sorts of anti St Louis Cardinals bile, and yet again I found something positive to say. At this time we'd only been watching the American Football for 4 years. And always just the highlights a week later than the games were played. It was assumed because my name is Gibbs that the Skins were my team. And while I did enjoy watching them, I had no real effinity.
After presenting a few facts that I had a vague hope were true about francises moving in the states, and how being the first NFL team in Arizona could be the making of the Cards, Bruce my Miami Dolphin supporting friend says 'Come on Mike, you know you are a Cards fan, why not come out of the closet and admit it' (Or words to that effect).
And so my friends, like in a movie where there is a bright light accompanied by some operatic Diva, I knew then and there, the Cardinals arising out of Phoenix were my team. I hadnt chosen them, they had chosen me. I just needed a nudge to realise it.
Imagine tho, living in the UK, where Kabbadi from India, Aussie rules football, and even Mongolian Wrestling got 100 times more airplay on TV than the NFL did. Imagine how hard it was to get news from Arizona. (This is pre internet days). Imagine after so much pain and hard work, yet again to find the Cards had been beaten a few days earlier, and yet again could have won if...... I know how we all felt when we were 7 and 4 (I think) in our first year in the Desert, only for it all to fall away. But I was still experiencing my first year of actually really caring about an NFl team. Where as before i enjoyed the whole NFl experience, i enjoyed learning the difference between a Corner and a line Backer. Now i had the enjoyment level raised to actually really wanting and desiring with every sporting bone in my body, a win for the Cards. Hey I even learned to hate the teams my buddies supported.
I kind of look back at that 1998 season with a happy feeling. A new City, a team going places. 7-9 was a good place to start. But that moment when Bruce said to me I was a Cards fan, was my happiest moment as an NFL fan.

The best memories for me (In no paticular order) are..
1. September 10th 2000- Jake Plummer marches the Cardinals down the field with the clock ticking and hits David Boston for a touchdown on the last play to give the Cardinals a 1 point win over the Dallas Cowboys. We only one 3 games that year, but I counted that one as 2. I was in a section of Cardinal fans, and we were arguing the whole day with some Cowboys fans and we ended up the victors that day.
2. The last game of the 1998 Season at SDS against the Chargers. When the field goal unit came onto the field, I held my breath and didn't let it out until that ball sailed through the uprights. When it went through, and locked up a Cardinals Playoff berth.. it was an amazing feeling.
3. The opening day of the 2006 season. The first regular season kick off in Cardinals Stadium and an opening day win over the Niners. I went with a buddy of mine, and my brother and we had a blast. There was so much enthusiasm in the air, and the crowd was about 90% Cards fans. It was great.
4. Kicking the Cowgirls butts in the first round of the '98 playoffs. I remember 'ol "Prime Time" Deon saying he had designed a new dance called the "Holy Ghost" dance that he was going to debut against the Cards after his 1st interception of Jake Plummer. Deon never got that chance, and instead walked off the field in the 4th looking like he was going to cry. Great moment!
Despite the dissapointments.. this team has given me some good memories. Here is to many more to come!

Same as the post before mine. It's so good to beat Cowboys. And specialy when home boy Jake the Snake did it.
Personaly, it was fun to be voted fan of the game against Dolphins in 1996 and go down to the pitch and receive the award. Fun stuff.

The best was the win in the playoffs. No. 2 is McCown to Poole, and No. 3 was Jacke's field goal.
Nos. 4-10 were our many wins over the Redskins that we shouldn't have pulled out.

I've seen San Diego a few times at SDS and everybody tries to get the team to turn around to the crowd. cussing, praising, even showing **** wouldn't do it(like the Monday night moved from San Diego game many many breats that evening) any way my wife was fresh from Russia and the Cards were fumbling around and all the Cards fans were in agony this one game and My wife who hates to see me agonizing over the Cards stood up when things went quiet and shook her fist high and screamed in her Squeaky broken English" MAKE SOMETHING GOOD FOR MY KELLEY!" all the San Diego players turn around with that what the hell was that look. The Cards came to life and made some plays and The Cards earned another flawed fan for the archives.
