The Official "Tell us about your avatar" thread...

If its not obvious what your avatar is (unlike mine), tell us about it. I think it would be interesting to know what posters avatars are as Ive noticed we have some very interesting ones on this board. Sometimes Im not sure what they are, what they mean, if they are a picture of the poster or someone else and the like. Id like to know because some of them are unusual, unique and like I said, very interesting!

Even if you have an obvious one, like mine, maybe you could tell us why you picked your particular avatar. Also, Ive noticed that some posters like to change theirs often while others dont. Ive had the same avatar since the beginning for two reasons....

One, I love the Cardinals and Ive always especially loved the old logo. I love the new one too, but the old one is all over our house so its very special to us. Two, Im very lame on computers and although its fairly simple to change avatars.....Id probably find a way to screw it up!!!

Anyways, If you get a chance, tell us about your avatar!

mine is my IMVU.com helmet that I made a weeks ago. My kids and wife like to go there at imvu.com and buy all these clothes etc. They kept bugging me to try this 3D chat thing out... so I did and noticed you could design your own clothes etc...

I made my guy... created the Cards helmet, took a screenshot, and used it here. Haven't been back at imvu.com since... but I want to make a complete uniformed outfit there and then see all the other NFL fans beg me to do their team... to which I'll say "not a chance."

Im not a hockey fan but I know who this guy is!!! He was our all time #1 when we had our all time jersey numbers 1-99 thread. After I read about him he beat out Penny Hardaway, Warren Moon and all the other "number 1s". That thread made it to about #47 or so and it kinda ran out of steam. It was fun, maybe we'll start it up again one of these days......

This particular dog, was voted the ugliest dog in the entire world for about five years straight. Unfortunately the homely little baztard made his way under the fence to the great fire hydrant in the sky a year or so ago.

Since I have been referred to as various sorts of dog over the years, most recently a filthy dirty dog by my latest exe-wife, I thought the ugly little creature would be a fitting avatar for me, LOL.

Mine is my son from 2 years ago as the Cards Kids Captain. He got to do the Cards/Seahawks game with Emmitt and Rice in it. At midfield my sister got a picture of him while on the jumbotron next to Emmitt during the cointoss. This was also the game that Rackers made 4 50+ FG's. Ahhhhhh, the good ole days....

It's weird to look at that pic cuz he's over 5' 8" now.

That would be cool! The weird thing is that I had Leinart as my avatar and changed to Rackers and what happens Leinart gets injured. I hope I'm not jinxing them :eek:

Well I have changed mine over time with the one before the current being a paperbag cutout with the Cardinals eyes and Donald Duck's beak poking through it. The paperbag avatar was provided compliments of TJ. I just modified it and oddly enough we won 2 games in a row when I had that one on. Maybe I should have left it there because I changed it to the most famous Cardinal Cheerleader of all time "Giovanna" which is my current one and wanted to keep up with RipperEagle and Booman! Although I am working on a new one that will blow theirs away! I won't have it ready til after the first of the year!

usually I have a tribute pat tillman cartoon (cardinals helmet on gun & boots memorial).

Right now it is an animation I made of the cardinals logo morphing back and forth between the new and old logo. It's so subtle I doubt most people have even noticed it. I have used off and on all year.

mine is the logo for the new york titans, which is the new national lacrosse league team in my area. there used to a team called the saints that played on long island where i live but they ceased operations so they started up a new team which is going to split playing time between madison square garden in new york city and nassau coliseum which is on the island. and that was too much for me to write about my avatar, i coulda ended that after the first sentance.

I noticed it immediately! I like it a lot. I have a special place in my heart for the old logo. Weve got it all over the place at home along with the new one.

Mine is the basic Card. I turned avatars off for a couple of reasons: #1 So the person's avatar would not influence my evaluation of their post in any way. Hey, I am a pig - if you have a well endowed, attractive, and/or provocative female picture as your avatar, you created a favorable bias toward your posts. If your avatar was obnoxious to me, you lost the benefit of the doubt. No avatars - no such influences. #2 I am on the board from work some of the time and the avatars add to the overhead.
