You're right. We don't want him.....

He's a self-centered punk.....

There were reasons he walked off the field after the Bucs won the Super Bowl all by himself.....besides, we have 2 DE's that are quite capable..

Nope. I want Simeon here now!. Cut Okeafor and sign either Simeon or Peterson.

Rice was a negative force for our team and for the Bucs. He had some success for the Bucs but he had to be installed in a very specific type of defense to have success. Things had to be fashioned around him. If he has to do anything other than simply rush the passer he is a liability.

For me, its a very big no ... as I suspect it will be for many teams if he hits the open market.

okaefor is a stud...if we signed simeon, i wouldn't be opposed to attempting to convert chike to an OLB. but its not necessary. and i hope ur not talking about julian peterson...he's a LB and he sucks at that position

Are you serious? Other than struggling through injuries last season Peterson is one of the better LBs in the NFL. He is a Pro-Bowler and will be one of the more coveted FAs on the market.

simeon rice has bad mouthed the cardinals and the organization....he didnt wanna be here and thats why he left.... and EVEN after he left he had some pretty crappy things to say about the organization....signing simeon rice would be taking a huge step backwards

Why not move okefor to outside lineback, opposite of dansby, draft hawk and sign simeon! That would be fun to see.

We have two stud DEs already on our line.

So not sure why you would want to bring in Rice?

Especially one who talked so much **** about the cards.

Is this the troll sign up sheet. I have thought and thought and can not for the life of me understand how any Cardinals fan would want Rice.

He talked **** about the fans, the organization, and blasted Tillman as well. If you want Rice on your team. Here you go. I want Rice on my team Link. (http://bbs.buccaneers.com/) Have at him.

Why even contemplate bringing simeon back to the armpit of the NFL?? Although not as distatsteful as Little or Owens, he is one of the guys who give NFL players a bad rap. His team mates do not even like the guy, that should tell you something.

I know ... I was commenting on the bad memories Oaken was stirring up.

It's comments such as Rice's that should have prevented a thread like this from being necessary. How any fans would even consider such a pariah coming back is beyond me! :mad2:

I say no to signing Rice. But we won't have to worry about him wanting to come here anyway.

Remember the insult he made about us; it still burns the armpits of all CARDS fans.

Let him go play for the Seahawks.

This is about the stupidest post I have seen on the board. Rice hates the Cardinals and he hates the area. He has personally stated that numerious times and he also bashed Tillman. The Cardinal organization also doesnt really like the punk either.

I don't care that he bad mouthed the cardinals. Don't get me wrong I am a cards fan but the god aweful truth is that we stink. I was outraged, however, when he bad mouthed Pat Tillman. Rice has no class and I feel sorry for any team dumb enough to pick this guy up.

This is funny the guy that was once the Cardinals Insider "Jurecki" said the same thing. He wouldn't mind seeing Simeon Rice in a Cards uniform again. That's because people who think Rice should be a Cards again after what he said about the Cardinals and the my :Censored: don't stink, just want Rice to cause problems for the Cardinals :exclamationmark: They get pleasure out of knocking the Cardinals.

I'd just as soon rather see the Cardinals hold open auditions for a spot on the roster American Idol style than bring back that sorry excuse for a human being.

Enjoy the ***.. or better yet.. armpit end of your career Simeon. The "armpit of the NFL" will be on the up and up, while you'll be struggling for PT on the Raiders.

Have fun with that one..

I agree...please, let's just end this thread.
Those of you who were not here when Simeon 'I don't play the run, I just rush the passer' Rice was here, badmouthing his teammates, and saying that he couldn't wait to leave, then saying what he did about Pat Tillman, don't realize what a cancer he was to this team. "I" was, and still is, his favorite word. The only reason he was good with the Bucs is because of his supporting cast on the D Line...he didn't have to play the run, and he didn't. If you ever watched him, he sort of hung on the fringes and after the tackle was made he would either jump on the pile or just stand around. He was cut for a reason...they don't like him as a teammate either. If he had given even 1/2 of Pat's heart to the game he would have been great, but he never had it.
What goes around comes around, and he is not welcome here under any circumstances, IMHO.

You can quote me....at $1/year, he still wouldn't be welcomed back.

There's no denying he has some talent.....so does TO....do you think he'll be back in Philly anytime soon. There's more to winning than talent. He'd never....NEVER....be welcomed back here.

How can anyone blame him for bad mouthing the organization when any forum having to do with Cardinals always has an abundance of posts talking about how bad the Bidwills suck. Oh, but now that we have a new stadium and some hope theres all this loyalty for ownership, right? Stop being hypocrites. I'd take him, but that doesn't matter since there's no way he'd want to come back.

He could not hack the 7000' altitude of Flagstaff, didn't care for Phoenix, plus in a 3-4 defense he would have to be converted to an outside linebacker.

No way.

Rice is a perfect example of what we don't want---selfish, mouthy, injury prone, and the epitomy of a prima donna. I wouldn't invite him to lunch moreless sign him to a contract. Anyone giving him money will regret it.
Simeon will retire and be insulted by how little the dollar interest will be for his services. I don't think he can pass a physical anyway.

Lions fans are rabid about the guy.

from the Det Free Press:

The Bucs said they released Rice because he failed a physical. Rice has a shoulder problem and is 33, but he also refused to cut his $7.25-million salary. He told the St. Petersburg Times this was about money and he would be back "with a vengeance."

Detroit would be a logical landing point. Marinelli was Tampa Bay's defensive-line coach before he became the Lions' head coach last year, and Rice regards him so highly he once said: "When talking about Rod Marinelli, you are talking about a man, a myth, a legend."

Rice could bolster the pass rush, and even if he isn't the player he once was, he could tutor his teammates. Defensive end Dewayne White, another former Buc, said Rice was like a big brother to him. Defensive end Kalimba Edwards was supposed to work out with Rice this off-season and was excited about it, but plans fell through because of Rice's health.

But the Lions would have to bring in Rice for a physical. If they decided they wanted to sign him, then they would have to settle on a contract that fit under the salary cap. Rice still might want to be paid as a top player, and he might draw interest from other teams -- like Chicago, his hometown team, coached by another former Tampa Bay assistant, Lovie Smith. Rice is unlikely to sign anywhere until his health improves and training camps wind down.

"A lot of things play into it," Marinelli said.

he'll be perfect for the Lions.. he thinks the coach is God. Watch out when a man thinks his coach is God... watch out.
