An early Happy New Year's greetings to everyone! :) I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend with friends and family. Arizona Cardinals conclude their disappointing 2006 NFL regular season today, but also have an opportunity to win three in a row for the first time this year by playing at the AFC West Champion (13-2) San Diego Chargers. An upset win at San Diego will finish the Cardinals season at 6-10.:Cards logo:
Matt Devlin and former Cardinals and NFL player Dale Hallestrae will announce the game for the NFL On FOX Sports, with My Fox Phoenix Channel 10, and KMSB Fox Channel 11 in Tucson televising the game live. Fox Sports will also televise the Cardinals/Chargers game to the Arizona and Southern California regions.
Dave Pasch, Ron Wolfley, and sideline reporter Paul Calvisi will also provide live game coverage of the Cardinals/Chargers game on flagship stations KTAR 620AM and KMVP ESPN 860AM in Phoenix. Our Arizona Cardinals fans worldwide may also hear the game through live audio internet streaming on http://www.ktar.com/ . Look for, and click the 'Listen To KTAR Live -Listen' link on top of the radio stations homepage.
Kickoff from Qualcomm Stadium will be at 2:15PM Mountain Standard Time. Here are also links to the Cardinals/Chargers NFL On FOX TV distribution coverage map courtesy of Gribblenation.net, and the live gametracker from nfl.com. Let's pull and support our Arizona Cardinals one last time this 2006 NFL season and GO CARDINALS!!!:clapping: :toot: :toothorn: :partytime: :redtowel: :football: :Cards logo:

Bummer.
As frustrating as the Cards can be most of the time, it sure is nice to watch my favorite team play every week.
As usual, maybe next year...
Let's go Cards! Let's end this dismal season on a great note!
Ladies and gentleman, it's been a privilege posting with you....
What am I saying, it's almost time to start arguing about the draft?

Westgate are you affiliated with the Cardinals organization in any way...? Or do you just have a habit of doing this same introduction every Sunday?
Just curious.

No, I am employed with the US Postal Service. I was never employed or have any personal connections with the front office employees or players of the Arizona Cardinals. I'm just a loyal Cardinals fan like the rest of the registered users and participants of this message board. I apologize for my redunancy on the game day threads all season.

Westgate, Ive enjoyed your start to the game day threads and always welcome your comments. Thanks for them.
Oh, but one thing, we dont have a chance to win three in a row today cuz we lost to Denver...... BUT we do have a chance to win 4 of our last 5 which I think would be EXCELLENT!!!!

Hi, everyone.:) I found more detailed profiles of today's NFL On FOX broadcasters of the Cardinals/Chargers game. Matt Devlin is the current TV play-by-play broadcaster for the Charlotte Bobcats of the NBA, and Dale Hellestrae is an 18-year veteran of the NFL, his last team playing for the Ravens. Hellestrae has been broadcasting occasionally for the NFL On Fox, including the Cardinals @ Browns game back in 2003. He played professionally for the Bills, Cowboys, and Ravens from 1985 to 2003, but not with the Cardinals.

Kitna & Romo had a shoot out today, both going over 300 yards passing...
I have a feeling Warner's gonna have something close to 400 yards passing today, I just hope he can contain his turnovers.
Wow, a redzone TD for Edge!? Sweet....I'm glad they gave him one rather than sticking Shipp in.

You're 100% right on that one man....it's a testament to the rushing game play (RB & O-Line) over the past 5 games.

Well, Philly has clinched the NFC East, and that's all. Chargers HAVE to win or the Ravens have to lose (which doesn't look like it'll happen) for them to get the #1 seed. I can see what they are doing.

True. Chargers probably wouldn't notice much of a difference in the running game if Turner went in. They will probably put those guys in the first chance they get to, though.

Oh MAN so close!
Warner has looked good. He's mainly throwing short, quick routes, which is smart because the Chargers got a good pass rush. I think the Cards will be OK IF they can stop Rivers and the passing game.
Anyway, I got to go. Hope you guys enjoy the rest of the game! See ya later.

the refs could have blown the whistle with about 10 seconds left so we could get to line and spike the ball but they let the play continue until about 4 seconds left even though Boldin was being pushed backwards the whole time. Oh well, should have taken a shot to the endzone anyway. Dumb play call.

Great veteran play by Warner
Sometimes Kurt makes it so hard for me to root for him, inexcusable decision by a player that is supposed to be a veteran. I can pretty much guarantee now that we are going to lose by 3 points or less because that is the kind of luck we have.
Egomaniac247
12-31-2006, 03:39 PM
I really try not to bash Warner but honestly, with him at the helm I just get that "cursed" feeling....the rushing game last year, the flukey turnovers, time expiring, not throwing far enough for the 1st down, etc, etc, etc....
Warner is a great QB but just doesn't represent a culture change for the Cardinals the way Leinart does in my opinion.

Kurt has made some absolutely HORRIBLE decisions this year! Throwing to a receiver 4 yards short of the end zone with no time outs, is the icing on the cake.

I don't know if that was Kurt's decision or the play design, but it cost the Cardinals 3 points. You take a shot at the endzone - if it isn't there, you throw it away and kick a field goal.

:duh:
it's ultimately Kurts decision though. He has a brain and knows that if you run a play like that and Q doesn't either get out of bounds or into the endzone, you're pretty much screwed. He can decide to throw that ball away and take the 3 points....regardless of the play design.

I dont know why the :Cards logo: have such a hard time managing the clock. Throwing the ball in the middle of the field when Boldin is going to have a very tough time getting out of bounds or in the end zone just makes no sense. It is thrown in the end zone or at someone's feet we are assured of getting points.

Regardless of the play call or design that play is on Warner, he is at the helm and he knows that we have no timeouts left and that the play can not end with a player even having the remote chance of being tackled in bounds.
Jon Kitna of all players made a smarter decision today, with only 8 secs left at the end of the first half versus the Cowboys he knew you throw it in the endzone or throw it away, they came away with a Roy Williams TD meanwhile we come away with nothing, these are the kind of bonehead plays that a veteran should not make.

Could be he's chosen to do strictly what he's told to do..., rather than cause anymore problems. Denny should just be like....look...this is probably my last game here....let's go balls to the wall...
He should start doing statue of liberty plays, flea flickers, double reverses, half back passes, the old ball under the shirt routine, etc, etc..
Hell, send Warner out for a pass.
