Hi,

I'm a student at UF and I'm flying out to Phoenix to go to the BCS National Championship game on Monday. I have a few questions for those of you who may be season ticket holders or just know alot about the area in Glendale.

First of all, a couple people in my group don't have tickets. Yes I know how prices are for this game and I know it will be different than an average home Cardinals game, but how is the scalping around the stadium? I've heard that there is a very strict scalping perimeter around the stadium. Are there places that tickets are more abundant than others? I plan on walking around with a sign saying I need a ticket the entire time I am there, but info on this would be of great help to me.

Secondly, would anyone happen to know how far the airport is from the stadium? How about each (stadium/airport) from Luke Air Force Base?

Also, I'm curious as to the surrounding area of the stadium. It looks to me (from pictures I've seen) like there is basically nothing around the stadium other than a parking lot and a desert. If those of us who don't have tickets can't find any there, it'd be nice if we didn't have to get in the car and drive 20 minutes to a bar to catch the game, but rather find something in walking distance from the stadium and still be in the search of a ticket.

Finally... I know some Cardinal season ticket holders got some priority on tickets. None of you have any extras that you would be willing to part from, do you?

For a cards game, people selling tickets will be around all major intersections surrounding the stadium although I would find that unusual for this game. Probably only a 10 minute drive to Lukes. A large mall next to the stadium is in the process of being built. There are bars within the mall already, they are walking distance, should be happening but may be crowded. A little further out but walking distance is an Applebees. Enjoy the fun in the neighborhood.

For walking distance, everything is at Westgate. Unfortunately, alot of it is still under construction, but I do know Gordon Bierch is open.

McDuffys and Fox and Hound are about 10 min north on the 101 freeway from the stadium.

For nightlife, there are a couple bars in Peoria that I hear are good, but the hot spot is 30 min away in Scottsdale.

Welcome to Glendale Arizona in advance .... I hope the Gators kick the black eyes behinds!!!

Anyways, scalpers should be plentiful at the game Monday evening.... during the Cardinal's season there was an area just Southeast of the Coyotes hockey arena, near lot " G " that allowed tickets to be bought or sold. I 'am sure that was not the only location that tickets could be had!

As far as things to do near the arena .... there was a shortage of food and drink establishments during the Cardinal's inaugural season ... but Westgate was coming along nicely so you may have more options than we did. Westgate is just North of The Coyotes arena and all in walking distance of the Stadium.

I hope that helped?

I think you will be disappointed in the nightlife on that side of town. Go to "Old Town" Scottsdale or Tempe (Tempe Dos Gringos has a great mix of fair priced drinks and good looking ASU girls) if you wanna have fun, although McDuffy's in Peoria is OK.

Also, it's CARDINALS STADIUM to us:exclamationmark: :exclamationmark:

Ok, so for those of us just goint to mess with the Florida Fans... :poke:

How are the tailgating options? Are there any rules regarding coolers, alcohol, and tv's and all that? I don't think we'll be allowed to leave the car in the lot for the night either. So if I were going without tickets, really no intention of getting any either, just to tailgate and hang out with other fans at the stadium, anything special I should know?
:partytime:

Fitzgerald is awesome...

Thanks

No glass containers. Very loosely enforced and no charcoal - gotta use gas. That's about it.

I've seen scalpers set up at a gas station/convenience store on 91st Avenue south of the stadium.

If you're driving in in a rental car (thanks for paying for the stadium, BTW), exit Loop 101 at Indian school and take 91st Avenue towards the big silver spaceship. Look for the scalpers on the right about 3/4 mile before the stadium.

Good luck, I can't stand the Buckeyes.

I've never gotten any crap about Charcoal or using Glass beer bottles, if you are responsible and clean up after yourself you'll be fine.

"Yard House" looks like a nice place. It's in Westgate and has the world's largest selection of beer on tap.

Here's some important information I found on the official website.......

Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and Tostitos BCS National Championship Game fans need to be aware of important game day parking and traffic information.

Whether you have a ticket to the game or not, anyone headed to the stadium on game day should pre-purchase a parking pass from the Fiesta Bowl by calling 480-350-0911, going online to http://www.fiestabowl.org/ or visiting the Ticket Office located at 7135 E Camelback Rd, #190, Scottsdale, AZ, from Monday to Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Public cash parking will only be available in the Blue West, Blue East and Brown Lots with a limited number of spots. The Brown Lot is located at the southeast corner of 91st Avenue and Orangewood. A free shuttle service will run between the Brown Lot and the stadium beginning at 11:30 a.m. The Blue West Lot is located at the southwest corner of 95th Avenue and Glendale Avenue. The Blue East Lot is located at the southeast corner of 93rd Avenue and Glendale Avenue.

Maps of parking lots and traffic routes are available on the official Fiesta Bowl web site at http://www.fiestabowl.org/
