While the question itself may be dumb, I still yet wonder about this.

While reading my last post on the draft, I noticed a few people mentioned changing the height/weight of the player. I normally didn't think to do that but for ****s and giggles I did an experiment.

I had 2 DT and 2 WR that I changed height/weight. Both same overall ratings and I did it for two seasons both two different teams and I didn't noticed much differance.

Does anyone that change height/weight in thier madden notice an actual change? Or how the players progress?

Weight means absolutely nothing in Madden. However Height gives you a bigger target WR wise, and height for a DT will let the passes be batted down easier.

I noticed though that both of the WRs had ABOUT the same jump stat point allocation. I figured that if they both had the same vertical the height would be irrevelant.

I personally think the two things are meaningless due to the jump/strength stat points.

I don't CHANGE anything, but when you draft a 370 pound OLineman, he is BIGGER than a 300 pounder...

Say for example you have two WR's, each possessing a 48" vertical leap.

WR "A" is 5'6"

WR "B" is 6'6"

Basic fundamentals would suggest that WR "B" can catch a pass thrown one foot higher than WR "A"

Some guy on a madden orientated site ran some experiments using players with exactly the same stats, but changed their height and weight. His results showed that height is a factor with CBs and WRs but weight does not mean a thing even with linesmen.

My experiment was I had both WR run the same routes (outs, deep slants, and jump balls) The smaller WR would de-fy the laws of gravity to jump up and catch the ball. The taller WR appeared to do the same thing, with less of a vertical due to his height.

I used to make a taller WR then run him on routes where he would just get behind the defender 90% of the time. Then would lob the ball over. The added height would help him to body out the DB. That was back in the sega days though, not so sure about the newer games.

if youre simulating games or not user catching the ball it wont make a difference . try this make an extremely tall reciever with good jump and lob the ball deep on a fly route. change into the reciever quickly and stop about three yards short of the circle where ball will land . hold in your strafe button and look back toward the qaurterback. now it will take some practice of when to jump but once you get the timing down this play is unstoppable. i do it all the time with fitz . the d- back will continue to the circle but the ball never makes it there:exclamationmark:

Madden 07 is unpolish, sometimes when u play superstar mode and if ur a dt or other postion u mite be able to play the whole game. Sometimes it let u sometimes u have to wait till ur side is back of the field witch that sucks.Tha game cant keep making of the mind.

adding height to a speed reciever will help in long balls
