He seems like a good coach. We really won't be able to tell until he gets a few recruiting classes together. He doesn't have a whole lot to work with. Stoops on the other hand, who has had some TOP recruiting classes still couldn't get U of A past ASU the past two years...

That is outta context some what since the UofA/ASU football game can go either way any given year.. UofA has beaten ASU with scrubs when ASU has good teams..

But anyways.. Were talking basketball here, dont change the subject to football just because you know ASU doesnt have a shot in hell to do anything good in basketball..

I wasn't just talking about ONE game, although I see how you'd think that because I put two years instead of three...

I'm just saying that you gotta give a coach some time...

So what ASU has a bad basketball team? They aren't supposed to be good this year because they are still stuck with Rob Evans kids. Once Herb gets the guys he wants you better look out.

You'll notice I haven't said a word about it on this message board...the whole conference upgraded this year, it's amazing!

I know right? How about letting the guy (HerB) get a couple of recruiting classes in before saying he can't get the job done. As far as I've heard, he's already got a pretty one coming in next year. We'll see though. It would take anybody AT LEAST 2-3 years to get ASU basketball going in the right direction. They've played some of the better teams in the conference tough so far, just not able to get over the hump. They aren't really getting blown out.....until they play UCLA and UofA probably.

UofA is and always will be the cream of the crop in the PAC-10 as long as Lute is around.. Might as well resign yourself to that fact no matter how many "good" recruiting classes Herb has.. His recruiting classes will never be as good as Lute's..

It will take a few seasons before Herb gets the Devils rolling, but Ive already seen some good things. Hes got the kids playing hard, emphasizing fundamentals and very competitive against some good teams. Thats a great start!

Lute is one of the best coaches ever so it will be hard to compete with them but not impossible. I think weve got the right guy to eventually give the U of A some excellent competition. Thats what Im hoping for in the next few years.

One thing about basketball. It doesnt take very long to turn things around because youre only talking about a few players unlike football......
