The controversy should now be put to bed.

FOXSports.com has learned that the Steelers have finally informed Vikings defensive coordinator Mike Tomlin that they have in fact chosen him as their next head coach. Tomlin is slated to fly to Pittsburgh by tomorrow morning provided the two sides can work out a contract.
The two sides have agreed to terms on a multi-year deal that is believed to be comparable to the four-year, $10 million deal Cam Cameron reached with the Miami Dolphins.

The Steelers are expected to officially announce Tomlin as their coach Monday.

Tomlin was originally scheduled to fly to Mobile, Alabama for this week's Senior Bowl but was asked by Pittsburgh brass to not get on the plane.

Calls to Tomlin have not been returned but sources close to the coach said he expects to be able to work out the terms of the contract with the Steelers by this evening.

I think we have a good OL coach. Let Grimm be OC and work with Loney. :Cards logo:

FINALLY, TOMLIN

Jay Glazer of FOX and Sean Jensen of the St. Paul Pioneer Press report that the Steelers finally have advised Vikings defensive coordinator that he is the choice to become the next coach of the team.

Glazer says that a contract has not yet been negotiated. Jensen says that an offer has been made, and the offer has been accepted.

In an unrelated development, Mike Prisuta of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review has received an offer to work at a local Subway store, and the offer has been accepted.

Dunno. Guess we'd have to ask The Whiz.

I would love it if Grimm was here. Shoot...before this last season I was praying for the Cards to drop Green and pick up Grimm as head coach. I think that Whiz, Grimm, and Pendergast will do wonders with this team if it things fall into place and Grimm leaves Steel city.

Lets just hope things work out:rockon:

Grimm would be nice, but I would love Dick LeBeau to come along as our defensive coordinator. In my eyes he is the best in the NFL.

Well, now Grimm's coming is a good possibility; LeBeau is staying in Pittsburgh.
