Here's a wild thought for the 5th pick. Teddy Ginn. Let me explain. He's actually a more talented defensive player. He was Ohio Defensive Player of the Year his senior season in high school. He's got CB ability like Champ Bailey. I'm not so sure he wouldn't consider switching back to defense. Top flight CB's make the big bucks. Tressel just played him on offense because he was so **** fast. Plus he could join the 3rd down offense as the home run threat and open up more space for Fitz and Q. Plus you'd get the best return man in football. He could end up having a major impact on somebody's football team. Discuss.

If we want Ginn, we would trade down and get some more picks in addition to him. He would also expect less pay.

rumours have been floating around that he wants to move to defensive back in the nfl. i do not know how substantiated those rumours are, but i heard it from somebody who knows somebody who knows somebody.

I can go for that too. I am easy though. So many choices, such little time!

Seriously though, you could see his stock really soar during the combine. It wouldn't shock me to see him go in the top 5 or 6 if he is healthy by combine time.

I've heard the rumors he plans on going back to defense also. He's the next Deion if he is. And Lord knows the Cards could use that. He could spend the first year playing nickel, returning kicks and even contributing on offense. That will give Rolle another year to see if he belongs at corner or safety. Then Ginn takes over one of the starting CB spots for the next 10 years Heck, if there were a corner worthy of the 5th pick we'd be talking him up. Ginn could be it.

No Ginn for me, NO THANKS!!!

He didn't really do much in college. His name was out there sure, but he wasn't all that and a bag of chips. 135 receptions for 15 TD's in 3 years doesn't do much for me. Similar to making Charles Woodson a WR in the NFL. I think we all know how that would work out.

IMO, he will go mid to late first round, but there are plenty of guys better than him. Why would anyone want to blow a top 5 pick on that guy just shows how much they know about football.

I don't feel like doing the research right now, but he is comparable to Steve Breaston and we can't afford to spend first round picks on that kind of a player, when we have other needs such as a corner who actually played corner in college for starters.

I could not believe Ginn went along with becoming a WR for Tressel. I thought it was a huge mistake in terms of Ginn's professional career. If he's switching back to CB, then he has the physical skills to be an absolutely top-flight player, but I'd worry about the fact that he hasn't played the position in three years and never had to match up against top-talent WRs in high school. If I were a GM, I'd steer clear of Ginn as a WR, I think he'll be another Peter Warrick.

I don't see Ginn going in the top 10 let alone the top 15 .... we need a solid player with our first pick .. not someone learning a new position ...
