Barbaro Put Down

I don't know if you all heard yet but 2006 Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro was put down today after 8 months of trying to save his life after breaking his leg in the Preakness. I'm sure it was a tough decision to make for his owner but it just wasn't meant to be. He was a good horse and it's a shame we won't get to see any progeny from him.

Being the animal lover that I am, I was very saddened when I heard about this this morning. What a shame....

I'm sure the horse had its fair share of misery and it was probably a much better decision to put him down.

I'll say this.....I own race dogs and absolutely love them to no end. When one passes on its a very, very difficult and emotional time for me and my family. If you love animals, and in our case greyhounds, as much as we do you understand what a sad time it really is. They are wonderful creatures and do nothing but love the people they are around. Loyal, loving and noble animals......
