Just went on the pricing map and noticed that they are now selling the temporary bleachers at the south (open) endzone, secs. 138-144. That will open up some more seats. Same price as the closed end.
That should take care of a few waiting list people.
Woo hoo!!!!
It was a waste to have those for private parties. Never saw them filled up for Cards games. Maybe BCS?

I believe those are going to be an all new section, since the temp section from last season was only two small sections. Now, it looks like there will be seven of them. From azcardinals.com:

Here's the scoop on those seats in the SEZ and the waiting list.
12 rows of 17 seats and there are 7 sections. They are bleachers and not individual seats like the rest of the stadium. But they are at field level. That's an extra 1428 seats that will be added.
With repspect to the waiting list, there are over 6000 on the waiting list. That's people who have put down $200 deposits for each ticket.
So, 6000-1400 = 4600 who are hoping (myself included) that they get tickets through normal attrition of people NOT renewing their tickets.

Thanks Kid for all the specific info.
LOVE endzone seats, bleacher type or not. Just the best experience. And for those not used to the field perspective? You get used to it and over time, have no trouble knowing how far the 1st down marker is. Had endzone seats for 35 years. It's taking me awhile to get used to the sidelines now. I think I still prefer the endzone! Plus, that's where all the "real" fans are. It's crazy.

We got to go to the BCS game and the seats in South Endzone were not bleachers like SDS. They were seats with backs, not as nice as the rest of the stadium but it appeared better than sitting on bleachers. The bands were seated there for the BCS game. It was amazing how many seats over all they added for the BCS game. The attendance was 74,600. I would imagine that is the seats that would be used.

1. There are 7 sections listed on the diagram
2. I called and spoke with a ticket rep
3. They told me how many rows there were, how many seats there were in each row, and what type of seat they are.
4. I used microsofts calculator to come up with the total number of seats.
5. I asked how many people were approximately on the waiting list.
6. I subtracted then the number of "new" seats from the waiting list number.
Any more questions.....:poke:

Also, they are not the same seats that were used in the BCS game as they cannot be torn down and put up in the 24 hour period necessary once the field is rolled in. If you remember, the field was not rolled out between the Fiesta bolw and the BCS game. They came in and put a new layer of sod over the existing layer of sod and did not tear down the stands. The sections that will be used for the Cardinals games are the ones that were used during each of the games this past season. They were VIP seats and people that wanted to get moved due to obstructions, problems in thier section.

The question (hopefully the last one) is, does the seats have backs?:Cards logo:

The Stadium does have a Retractable Roof... The 2007 seating chart seemed very similar to that of the BCS game. The seats for the BCS game seemed like a upgrade compared to bleachers.

What does a retractable roof have to do with this....They don't leave the field inside between Cardinals games for the mere fact that there are OTHER NON FOOTBALL EVENTS that take place. It's a MULTI-PURPOSE field and must be taken out after each home game. And no...The seating chart for the BCS is not similar at all. There was seating in the beer garden as well as down below. Trust me...it's only going to be 17 rows of seats at field level. There are 40 rows in the North endzone. And don't forget about the indoor Big Red Rage tailgate party that goes on....That will be behind these temporary seats.

I don't know that the "real" fans are there. I just happen to be a "real fan" who does not enjoy the endzone view. Call it depth perception challenged or whatever. I just cannot follow the game from there. My hat is off to those who can. IMHO

1988 way down in north EZ, I watched the touchdown that beat the 49ers (the talent packed, SB 49ers) in the last two minutes of the game. Over the years, I sat all over SDS. Every seat has its advantages and disadvantates. In 2004 and 2005, we sat in south EZ loge section 147 right between the goal posts. Good seats for staying out of the sun and watching the Rackers field goal magic. The TV's in loge at SDS compensated when the action was at the other end of the field as do the big boards at the new stadium. We went for section 222 at the new stadium because it was the closest thing we could find to EZ seating in Club. But, we are clueless on some of the field goals - not a good angle from 222. Still, we have no regular seating behind us (there is a handicap row; but, it is elevated so standing has neve been an issue) and we are on the end of our aisle with ready access to the rest rooms and beer. Overall, we plan to keep those seats for a long time. Life is good!

Didn't mean to slight anyone. It's just that endzone seats seem to have the, for lack of a better word, "rowdier" or maybe "more demonstrative" fans. Always yelling, cheering, making noise. I've found that in most the stadiums I've been to. It really is a great experience. And you get to see some really great butts!

Tell you they are removeable seats (aka bleachers).. And at the BCS game not only were there the normal bleachers that we see at Cards games, BUT they went ALL way way back to the Beer Garden.. A small little walkway and MORE seats.. I couldn't recall how many rows.. But I just looked at how high those people were on removeable bleachers and I said NO way..

Yeah I know what you mean. My son and his friends sat in the SEZ of SDS for years. I tried it, it just didn't work for me. You are right, there was a lot going on there. :Cards logo:

I don't know if it was YOUR butt or not Kid. I know this. With those lineman only wearing a jock strap, you see more than you have a right to. One rookie lineman had his balls hanging to his knees, even with those skin tight pants and the strap. He was definitely hung like a horse. :garfield: Love those endzone seats!!
