What you say makes sense, but it's the right move nonetheless. His agent is Drew Rosenhaus, he was going to be a RFA after this year and we owe it to him.

Besides it's not like we paid "OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG80MILLIONS!". :whistle: :computer:

Eh, it's not that much compared to the top backs in the league. I'm not sure where he exactly stands with the top backs though.

I hate to admit it but I can't stand seeing him staying in SF, he's one of a few backs that look scary as hell breaking the LoS.

Good signing for SF...and it's about the only time anyone will mention the words "Gore" and "4 more years" in the same sentence. :)

What do you guys think of the NFC West backs?

IMO it goes:

1.Gore
2.Steven Jackson (by a short margin-- it's hard to distinguish a better back between Gore and SJ but Gore has been more consistent through his career so far so I chose him)
3.James
4.Alexander

It's a pretty stacked list. I'll be interested to see what Whisenhunt does w/ Edge. He's a better back than he was last year. He'll rebound a bit.
