Hey guys,
I'm about to relocate from Colorado over to AZ around the Scottsdale area! I am a huge football fan, and a very big Broncos Fan. I can honestly say I don't watch the Cardinals much unless they are on the air locally, but I am very interested in getting to know my hometown team.
I have to admit, I will always root for the Broncos, but I figure why not have a NFC favorite too? Hope thats not too sacreligious, but I feel I need to stand behind whatever community i'm in.
I'd just like to know where AZ fans stand with the Broncos in general? I will miss Colorado a lot, but I hope to have a great new future there in AZ and possibly even have a great new future with the Cardinals as well!
Nice to meet you all, and i'll be around more once I finally get done with this horribly tedious move!
P.S. Any suggestions on good cheap places to live? I was looking in the Chandler/Gilbert area.. office will be in N Scottsdale but I doubt I can afford to live there! Like to get into a nice house thats inexpensive for my family.
P.P.S. Also looking for good daycare for my 3 yr old daughter if anyone knows anything first hand.. looking at kindercare or possible La Petite.. Suggestions would be welcomed!

Welcome (almost) to AZ!!! I've been a season ticket holder for the Cards for 19 years and it's great to be a fan. Like the 60's and 70's when the Broncos couldn't win much. You'll enjoy being a fan. My bro-in-law has been a diehard Bronco fan all of his life. He too is from there. He now sports a Cards (Rolle) jersey and enjoys having season tickets. Nothing wrong with liking two teams as far as I'm concerned. Glad to have you aboard!!!
Also, if you need help finding a home, let me know, I'm a Realtor. Just send me a private message if you want some help!!

Care to elaborate or are you unable to dictate more than one thought at a time? Maybe you should move to Djibouti? It's as ambiguous as the statement you just made.
Thanks to the first poster, it's nice to see at least 1 person that posted is nice. A Shame to see these kinds of fans in AZ, but hopefully it's the minority, and it certainly won't stop me from coming at this point.
I will be out there on the 7th to look at houses, but only to rent for now until my house sells up here.
Glad to see AZ is getting a pretty high pick in the draft, and talks of possibly trading even higher to the Lions. I look forward to going to a game or three this year.
I am going to miss my Broncos games, but I love football in general, and look forward to cheering for the cards as well! :cardinals:
Thanks, hope to hear from more people! Preferably the ones that is capable of typing more than one incomplete sentence!

Ive lived here for 20 years and have had Cards season tickets since 1990. I can tell you that its the greatest place on earth and I know we will never live anywhere else! Ive lived in SoCal, Northern Nevada (Reno, Lake Tahoe) and wouldnt even THINK about moving back to either of those places compared to Phoenix!
Now, the heat, yes its hot, but I like the heat. I cant stand the cold. When you get older the cold becomes your enemy in many ways!
Being a Cards fan is the best. The core fans here that arent bandwagoners are the best in sports (really). What weve put up with year after year and the fact that we stay loyal is really amazing, but we do it because we love this team and who they represent.
If I were you I would really make a big effort to visit this board often. Its a GREAT place and lots of super info, chat, exchange of view points etc. with some excellent people. Also, I would listen to XTRA Sports 910, Dan Bickley and Mike Jurecki in the morning 6am-10am to get the local sports talk and I would highly recommend calling CardsFanJoe for your real estate needs. He is a great guy a fantastic Cards fan and someone I would trust to do the job for you professionally and honestly. Believe me, in that industry you want a solid individual. Joe is all that!
Good luck in Arizona. You will love it here. The greatest place on earth!!!:cardinals:

Hey BigDan, sorry for the hit and run comment, I was a little irritable last night.
A lot of people move here and all they do is complain about the heat, the traffic, the lack of trees and how its just not like it was back home. If you come in with a good attitude, which it sounds like you have, you will really love this state.
The Cardinals need all of the fans WE can get and are happy to add new ones any time. We have endured many years of poor attendance, crapppy bleacher seats, obnoxious opposing fans and often just plain bad football.
I hope we can turn it around very soon and if you get into the games, you just might become a DIEHRD CARDINAL FAN!!!!
Welcome aboard!:cardinals:

Hey,
Thanks guys for the posts (thanks to you too Larry), and I am excited to go! I must admit this winter was considerably harsh where I live and i'm plain and simple sick of the cold here I think.
believe it or not its still snowing here...cold as hell, and i'm trying to remodel the house to get it ready for sale... how frustrating. Can't wait to get to the heat!
I messaged Cardsfanjoe about us coming out, hopefully he can help! Thanks again for all the support!

Welcome aboard, most of the rude Cards fans are in the minority, which you'll find out if you stick with this team.

Welcome, Dan. I've lived in a few NFL cities and have held season tickets in all of them (except Dallas - just couldn't bring myself to root for those guys). Pittsburgh is original home. You'll love Phoenix. The stadium is first rate and as is the case every year, we expect the team to be much improved.

I wanted to personally thank CardsFanJoe on here for helping my family and I relocate to the Phoenix area, and for going above and beyond in every way from finding us a house to rent, to going to the house and waiting for cox cable to install our stuff and going back again and waiting for Lowes to install the fridge!!!
I really appreciate all your help Joe, and I want everyone on the boards to know this guy is a class act. If you are looking to buy or rent in Az this is the guy to get a hold of. It was nice going to a City we didn't know and meeting a person that made us feel welcome right from the start.
Thanks again Joe, and its great to be here in Cardinals land! I look forward to posting more on this board once I settle in with the job.

My brother-in-law is in love with John Elway and I think would have his kids if he could! He is tall, goofy and really kinda slow! Anyway.. About Denver.. well it was fun getting to know some of the Bronco fans in Denver they got me pretty lit, enough, I don't remember names of places I went to. Been there plenty o- times, just didn't do enough for me to rememer..
Enough about that. Welcome to Az. Sorry to hear you keep having to tell us you love the Bronco's. A small suggestion would be to keep that to a minumim and at least TRY and let some of the hometown pride come thru. We actully have teams here that win or are good in sports that people care about (NBA, MLB, NCAA hoops).. Suns are fantastic, that shouldn't be an issue, Nuggets well their the Nuggets.. MLB (D-Backs won a WS 6 years ago).. we prob won't or will barely be at .500 , but hopefully the talent they are banking on comes thru.. We have the Pac-1o in football and hoops and U of A is usually pretty good..
What I am trying to say is there is MUCH to love about AZ.

Casa Bonita is awesome! I used to go there all the time when I was a little bitty guy. They have a big waterfall inside. The haunted house deal there during halloween is pretty cool too.
Dan, enjoy the Valley. I lived there for 14 years (and Denver for 5). I miss Phoenix like crazy. Most of my time in AZ was in Glendale and it absolutely blows me away every time I'm out there and see how much it has grown out there and the Avondale/Litchfield/Goodyear area.

HA! I played golf with John Elway and "The" Vance Johnson.....Was on the golf team in HS.....One day before practice (which was just down the street from Mile High Stadium).....we were waiting to Tee off when these two decked out golf carts roll up.....John looks at us and says...Which two of you are going to join us......everyone else stands there stupidly while I pick up my bag and load it onto John's cart......Best round of golf I ever played even though I shot a ******* 86 that day......John shot a 68.....He can kill his drive......Vance.....89.....I beat him by 3 strokes!

There are a bunch of Broncos fans here, but the greatest Arizona fans are Cardinals fans.

Yeah, Thanks Gee. You can not wear the opposing team's jersey to the tailgates because a hotdog bun might fly through the air and hit you in the head. But replace "hotdog bun" with "beer bottle". Just joking...but do not wear an other team's jersey to the tailgates.

I liked the time we burned the Eagles jersey in the parking lot.
Welcome to AZ, I hope it is not Qwest that is transfering you down here.
I am not to fond of Broncos fans. The reason why is I went to a Cardinals-Broncos game in Denver. There was some Cardinals players girlfriends sitting together and the fans in the area threw beer at them and shoved one of them almost to the next row. They only did this after the Cardinals scored. It wasn't like it was a close game or anything, but terrible sportsmanship as far as I was concerned. So I have hated the Broncos ever since. They are almost hated as much as the Cowboys.

If this was Jake's lastgame as a Card I was there too..I on the other hand have nothing but good stuff to say about them. The tailgaters we partied with were awsome and took us in as thier own. Some of the fans INSIDe sucked, but oh well.. I have had issues with some Cards fans too so be it.

That is nothing.. Eagles fans have NO room to even comment on this.. As I was walking into the vet with 2 Big brother mind u I was yelled at spit at, had stuff thrown at and had a kid hit me.. That was on the WAY IN! Nothing wrong with buring a jersey! Ripper you're ok in my book, but please buning a jersey is no biggie.. No harm.. Only harm is coming into our house wearing another teams jersey!

Yeah I forgot to tell you...I wasn't at any games the Cards played the Eagles at the Vet so you cannot blame me if that's what you're trying to do.
And how exactly did you get it to burn? Did you buy it? Steal it off a fan? beat there *** huh?

Welcome to Arizona BigDan!
Some people here are just ******.. ignore them. Most people here hate the Broncos for whatever reason. Personally, they are my favorite AFC team and second favorite overall. The Cardinals will always be my #1 and there is quite a gap in my #1 and #2 since I probably couldn't name 5 Bronco Players.
Some of us are glad to welcome new fans and hope you don't get to frustrated by some of the stupid crap on the forums. Ignore the elitists that think they are better fans then everyone else.. they're ****** and not worth your time.
As for Eagle Fans.. I have been to more Cardinal games against the Eagles then any other team, and I usually find their fans to be among the most enjoyable to watch a game with. I have met more classy Eagle Fans like Ripper then I have bad fans that throw batteries. Don't however, get me started on Seahawk fans.

Cheap is a relative term in Phoenix. An 3 bedroom home built in the 90's in Chandler/Gilbert runs for around 400K. The further you live away from the apex of the city, the cheaper the homes are. Right now, the only fairly new homes in the 250-300 range are in Avondale, Suprise, and East Mesa. Older homes in Chandler (below 1990) will have homes in the 300-400K range.

Wow,
Sorry, I’ve been working hard at the new job and haven't been able to get online much. Thank you all so much for the friendly welcomes! I look forward to trying to get to a cardinals game once or twice this year!
As to the animosity of the Broncos, not much I can do about that. I am first and foremost a football fan. I always have been, but I’m also a Broncos fan.
Trust me though, I’m very open-minded, and I’m excited to start getting into some cards football! (and don't worry, if I get to a tailgate party I promise not to wear a Broncos jersey!... I don't want to be a receptacle for Hot Dogs or Beer unless I’m putting them in my belly!)
Talk to you guys soon!
