I about pizzed my pants laughing at this take on the Buster Davis pick. I like the pick, but this is one pizz poor analysis.

• Arizona has greater needs than inside linebacker. However, Florida State ILB Buster Davis represents an upgrade over Gerald Hayes and should benefit from the Cardinals taking Michigan DT Alan Branch. With Branch eating up space and occupying blockers, Davis' size won't be as much of an issue. He has excellent instincts and takes the shortest path to the ball, so he should be very effective.

I really hope they were just trying to be funny.

There is a difference between potential, and actually being an upgrade at this time.

I'm sorry, but maybe he is, maybe he isnt. Hayes miraculously made it through last season without missing serious time.

besides, nobody has any ******** clue how Whis views some of the defensive players. He wasn't the one who signed Gerald to an extension.

Hayes is a bright spot on our Defense...Team him and Buster together on the inside in a 3-4 alignment and watch out.......

For as good as Hayes played, you would consider an undersized ILB like Davis to be an upgrade. I think it is more that likely Davis will play outside.

Good points, and I agree. I just do not agree with Davis at this point being an upgrade or better than Hayes.

He is not an upgrade at all you are correct....Hayes played like a monster last year. Love the way he has fought through his injuries....Can not wait to see he and Buster line up together with Dansby and whoever on the Outside.....

Count me in ... Hayes had a real good year last year and improved as the year went along ... Davis will be a good compliment in the 3-4 defense lining up next to Hayes .. but to say he is an upgrade before we even see him play is not right ...

I dont know, and thats why I said maybe maybe not

but coming out of college there's no comparison between the 2.

I honestly think its only a matter of time before Buster is a staple in the front 7, but he'll definitely be playing inside in the 3-4 with Hayes

I think Buster will find a way to be a player on the field coming this season! I can't see him being benched! Drafted as a MLB, but I can assure he will make a transition to ILB if thats what is gonna get him on the field!.

I am still am in the thinking of a 4-3, your correct, he will play inside on our 3-4.

I have no idea about the 4-3 really. Buster is more of cover-2 type WLB, and I'm not sure that he can play in the 4-3 traditional scheme.....but they wouldn't have spent a third rounder on him if they didnt think he could compete for time in that package
