TEN EVENTS TO AVOID
1. The Super Bowl. The cost-to-enjoyment ratio is the highest in American sports for this overhyped, outrageously expensive event. You'll enjoy the game more on TV while saving your money for a far more rewarding experience.

2. NFL exhibition games. Why would anyone willingly buy tickets at full price for meaningless games in which the main objective is to play the starters only long enough not to get them hurt? The answer: No one. Which is why teams require that their season-ticket holders buy tickets for these miserable games.

3. NBA draft lottery. Drafts are bad enough, but at least players are actually picked there.

4. Baseball old-timers game. The desire to see your favorite player on the field again is understandable, but don't give in to the temptation. There is nothing worse than seeing a former hero so fat and out of shape that he can't bend over, let alone bend over to scoop up a grounder.

5. Pro Bowl. If you want to go to Hawaii, just go. No need to mix in your vacation with a game that not even the players chosen to play want to attend.

6. World Series of Poker. Poker is not a sport. It's gambling. And your money isn't on the line, so why would you care?

7. WWE. Real sports don't need scripts.

8. Rhythmic gymnastics. Is an explanation really necessary?

9. The Wing Bowl. The contestants may not feel like throwing up at this annual Philadelphia eating competition, but you will.

10. Dogfight night at Michael Vick's house.

wanted to make sure you saw this one.........

33. The All-Africa Amputee Football Tournament (Sierra Leone). The first tournament featured African war victims, six one-legged players and a single one-armed goalkeeper to a side. If you need any more information than that to pique your interest, you might as well hand in your human race membership card.

I agree that the price of an Exhibition ticket shouldn't be full price. I went to a preseason game a couple years ago where we paid for the cheap tickets but because of weather and the lack of interest from other people we had great seats. The price for a preseason ticket should be more inline with the price of an AFL ticket.

#5. My parents have gone to 3 or 4 Pro Bowls and love it. Their anniversary is in february so they are in hawaii any ways and just add the pro bowl to the list of things they want to do.

#7. I've been to a few events back in the day and despite it being scripted. The action still draws you in.

Have done:

#4 - World Series 1979
#6 - Spring Training - used to alternate Fla and Az but I live here now so save the $'s on traveling.
#7 - NFL Conference Championship - 1972 AFC
#9 - Wimbeldon - 1998
#10 - Tour de France - 1998
#11 - Premiership Soccer Game - Had season's tickets to West Ham in 1997 and 1998.
#35 - Opening day at least 30 times.
#42 - NBA courtside - Dallas Mavericks when they sucked.
#43 - Baseball All Star game - Last year!
#72 - Sturgis. I have no idea how you could call this a sporting event though?
#76 - Beach volleyball sometime around 1991.
#85 - Raiders game in the black hole. I wasn't IN the black hole but I'm crossing this off the list anyway.
#91 - Little leage game - that's reaching a bit to make the list longer, I think.
#100 - Harlem Globetrotters game. I was about 14 maybe. My Aunt took me.
#101 - German autobhan. Again, not sure why this is on the list.

There's a lot on the list I'd still like to do. Mostly because of the travel required, as opposed to the event itself. #44 - The Palio horse race would be #1. I was in that town, just not at the time of the race which looked to be a terrific event. So many events, so little money!

I'd love to go to the olympics, preferably summer. You know us black folks and cold weather! LOL.

Seriously tho I love track and field and I'd love to be able to go to the summer games and watch a world record be broken in person.

The next 100m record holder appears to be Tyson *** who has gotten 9.79 with the wind and 9.84 against the wind this year. Next shot comes in September in Germany, wind permitting, he should have the record
