View Full Version : Cards Chicks - Female Fans???

MamaMia

I know of a few female Cards fans around here, but sometimes I find myself in a sea of man-types when it comes to football talk. I even try to keep my mouth shut at work so the guys don't think I'm too much into talk of pre-season and depth charts.

Who are the other female fans on the boards? Guys, are your wives/girlfriends/gal pals/daughters fans?

I'm suiting up my girls with their cutie patootie cheer outfits so that, as my 3yo puts it, " I can look just like Daddy. Go Cardinals!"

My wife hates my football addiction.....Can't believe she let me get the boyz tickets this season. If you watched the video I posted in the Cards section, she decided to leave and go to the store cuz she wanted nothign to do with it's production. :) Like Paula Abdul once sang...Opposites Attract!

I took my wife to a game against the NY Giants several years ago. She is a baseball fan and I always told her that I thought Cardinals games were way more fun than the D-Backs. After she went to her first Cardinals game she was hooked. She loves the underdog and when she saw how out numbered we were at SDS she was ready for the long haul. She now goes to every game with me, training camp, fan fest, tailgates, etc.

I saw you guys at the rally last year at the Tempe training facility (Lazy85249's wife pointed alot of people out for me! Hey, where's Lazy been anyhow?) Your daughter was super cute in her little cheerleader outfit! Start 'em young! :cardinals:

Another female fan here, welcome back Mama Mia! Love football and talking about it......I really don't care if I'm knowledgable or not!

Luckily I'm the boss at my place of employment, and if people want to work......they pay lip service. Flew in *on my broom stick* for 4 Cardinals games last season....and of course, I attend every USC home football game. :cheerleader:

My girlfriend is getting into fantasy football ... it's really getting her interested in watching NFL football on sundays and keeping up with the goings on during the week. I really have to give her credit for making the effort.

MM don't know if you remember here but you met my wife at the (hh umm cough) rally last year at the training facility before the Oakland debacle.

She loves going to games and she will cheer them on with the best of them (wicked high fives) but when it comes to talking football or depth charts her eyes glaze over from sheer bordem. She loves the excitement around gametime but thats as far as it goes for her. The son and I on the other hand are fanatical. :toothorn: :clapping: :Cards logo:

I made the mistake about 8 years ago of taking my wife to a preseason game at SDS. Not only was it about 200 degrees in the lower bowl, but we were playing the Raiders. While the stadium stunk like a locker room, my wife got the pleasure if sitting next to some sweaty Raidernation wannabe that weighed about 300 lbs and wouldn't put his shirt back on. I traded places with her and it was just as bad.

Since that 8 years, she has seen me come home from about 50 ballgames, often sweaty, dejected from a loss and without a voice. While she questions why I go, she accepts it and even helps me prepare the tailgating trip.

We are at the point now though that she will watch football with me on the days the Cards are out of town.

I'm excited, I have two girls (11 and 14). With two season tickets, i am taking one to each of the preseason games to see what they think. I picked up four extra Cards/Steelers tickets of Ticketmaster, so my wife is going to head to UOP. I promised her its NOT the Raiders.

We'll see mamamia!

if anyone knows how to make a woman get into football, please let me know. My wife just shakes her head when i sit down and watch NFL Network.

My husband, then my boyfriend took me to a game back in the 60's. It was the Rams and the 49ers. As a kid, I liked the 49ers because the guy across the street would bet the kids a quarter for any game the 9ers were playing. Anyway, I was a tomboy to begin with, so that helped.

BUT, he took me to a Rams game. I saw Roman Gabriel and fell in love. Then my hubby said that if I rooted for the 9ers again, he'd never take me to another game. I became a Rams fan so I could go to more games. We had season tickets from 1966-1994 (they left in '95).

Last year, I talked hubby into buying season tickets to the Cards, my new adopted team, and I drag him now. He "blames" me for having to drive to the games every other weekend, but you know what? In his quiet way, he's enjoying every minute. Me, I'm yelling the whole game.

Our only child, a daughter, was taken along to the games, was not and is not a tomboy, but grew up with football. Now she loves Nascar. Lucky husband eh?

The thing is with some women, they don't like the drunken fans or just bad behaviour. If you can get seats where there's not too many rowdy fans, go to the game, show pictures of the players, and hope she falls in love with one or 2 of them. That's the start. And allow her to root for another team, at least for a little while until she's hooked.

My first game was the 49ers and Rams too, in the early 80's I went with my now husband's best friend (another story) I grew up watching football every Sunday! Moved to Texas and rooted for what ever team was playing against the Cowboys. I guess I have always loved football! :cheerleader:

My wife hates it. But when we met she was warned. I told her in life I am willing to make many changes. I am willing to hang out less with friends. Stop drinking, and get straight to have my fam. But, I will always be a Cards fan. They are my team. And I don't mean I like them, I love them. They are a passion, and addiction. If we get married you have to come to terms with that. She said "OK" and now we are married. She has warmed up a bit. Never has she gone to a game, but she understands my pASSION. Our fam pic is of my 2 girls in cheerleader getups, and my son and I in matching Q reds. I love her acceptance.

My wife and 5yr. old daughter are complete fans and supporters. I loved the way my daughter used to cheer for the Arizonia Cartnals... Last year my wife was with me at every game and my daughter and son at a few.

We just got back from Flag and went to Cards Camp after camping and fishing in the hills since Thurs.

Sounds similar to what I did. When me and my girlfriend became an "item"...lol I told her Sundays were absolutely
off limits. No birthday parties, no family functions, no funerals, weddings......I dont care what it is, you do not ask me to do anything on Sundays during football season. She said "O.K."

Now, after seeing my passion for the Cards and my reasoning for sticking with them through all the years she has grown to love them also. Last year she went to 3 Cards games with me in AZ., the game in San Diego and went to the bar every Sunday to watch the games. Hell, I had to work on Sundays. I didn't even get to see every game last year. She also knows the players by name and number and has a crush on some guy they call " A GROWN *** MAN" :ha:

I will be in Oakland, next Saturday ready to watch our boys ruin the raider nation :poke: :poke: .

I love football in general. Actually, two nights ago, I bought and watched Rudy- again... and I still can't help crying.... sigh... perseverance and hard work all paid off when he sacked the QB. Oh... and when the guys all told the coach that he could dress in their place... tear ....

Clever...lol

I used to say "I don't know much about football, but I know a tight end when I see one."

I have always preferred football over other sports, but was raised by a single mom with no brothers or boys around, so it wasn't a part of growing up (although I was a cheerleader for a while).

Now, I have two little guys, and we live right around the corner from the stadium- and we have all gotten behind the Cards!:cheerleader:

I'm playing my first season of fantasy football- team name? The Tight Ends (of course)

Even if your girls aren't into football, isn't that reason enough to watch? lol

I feel compelled to make another correction...

Having lived in NY for two years I wouldn't even put NY in the top 10! Maybe just below Wisconsin. (Mmmm Wisconsin!) Unfortunately, NYC people think they live in the greatest city in the world with the greatest people in the world. That elitist attitude, because one happens to be born there, changes a hot woman to an annoying (fill-in-the-blank). Besides that, they don't look as good as the women I grew up with, and the ones I see every day around town...

No need to argue: the :burgerking: is always right!

My wife has no choice but to be a Cards Fan. It's in the pre-nup. My tailgate group is 5 couples, (I know this may shock some, but each couple consists of one man and one woman), and the ladies are almost as rabid as the guys.

As for the Female Cards fans in general, I took my boss to a game last year, (he's from Boston), and he had scrapes on his chin from his jaw hanging open the whole game. He couldn't believe how attractive the Cardinal's faithful Females were. "Dude, this is unbelievable!" I think he missed half the game. We're so spoiled here. AND, this year, A REAL TEAM too. Alot of guys don't want to talk to a woman about football. THEY DON'T KNOW NUTTIN!!!'. Well yeah its true. I need nfl for women 801.

There was a tv show a few years back with um that girl from Married with Children. It was set in Buffalo and I rememeber this one scene that the girls were betting on games and they are saying so and so is hurt, dont count on him etc. All of a sudden the guys walk up and they change to, "Oh there uniforms are better looking, i'll pick them".
OMG my kids fell on the floor laughing and said,"MOM THAT IS YOU!!!!

I can turn it off and on with football.

I asked a customer of ours who is a Cards fan, are you happy camp is starting. He had no clue what i was talking about!!

I am sad we are not at camp this year. Second time in 12 yrs we are not there

We will be there Aug 18 and not the 25. I sold those tickets to a friend of mine. I was going to go with her but hubby said," We never saw a game, at this stadium, on tv before". ,so saying home and watching on tv.(might never get that chance again a home game on tv lol)

Some people people want the fame and want it outside of the game..

Cheer for the game, dont make yourself a sideshow..

Yeahhh umm ok.. Have another drink.. You don't know anything about me.. Fight all you want, if that makes you a bigger Cards fan, wonderful... As far as being a sideshow, well that's your opinon and well frankly, I really DON'T care what you think.. You fight and I don the wig..

Guys, take it offline, get a room, do whatever.

This is so uncool. I send a nice shout out to all the female fans and you find a way to make it all about you.

Sorry Mama Mia. The only reason I commented initially was because I was so offended by Gee's original comment. Didn't mean to "threadjack" your thread. Nice to see so many lady Cards fans out there, by the way.

The ladies will take control and step back into this conversation.......MamaMia, my friend Erin and I love football, we attend every USC home game and 4 Cardinals games last season.....and her husband choses to stay home with the kids and watch the games on TV! Now that is a perfect husband! :yahoo:

That is a great husband.

Hey by the way ladies- I was up at the Cards camp last Saturday, and I was standing next to some people who were talking about the autographs they had gotten during the morning autograph session.

The husband was making fun of his wife, because she got everyone's autograph- even the "guy who does the laundry".

I couldn't help but laugh, and I leaned over to her and said, "A man who does laundry? I'd get his autograph too!"
