Seems both of our teams have benefited from the coaching changes in our respective franchises.
Thanks again for beating the Seahawks as well...hope Troy boy is doing better, my heart nearly stopped when he was injured....and yes, Trojan love is stronger than any other allegience.

You're right ... being the TE coach of the Jets and Ravens sure made a difference in his being hired as your new head coach.

But who am I to contradict the fan of the game ... you must be proud.

Awesome! I've been ignored by a 35 yr old guy with a MySpace page who paints his face and wears a wig! Too cool!
Maybe the next time somebody tries to say something nice to you, like Congratulations, you could be a bit more appreciative rather than telling them to "spare us". I realize this is a new concept to Cardinals fans, but when you get used to it ... it's quite nice.
To the REAL Cardinals fans: congratulations and best of luck. To AzCardsGM (if you're reading this): grow up.

You are 100% correct with Whiz as all his coaching experience was with AFC teams.. BUt with Grimm as a player on the hogs and 8 more years with that team..Then 6 with the Steelers.. Sorry but I think we was paying attention to his HOF coaches in Washington..
Listen I wasn't trying to be as.. It's just rather mundane to have people come in here and say you're welcome as if they themselves had something to do with us getting Whiz.. Well suffice it say we wanted him, we had a team he could mold into a winner and so he went for it..
Sorry I guess hearing the Steeler fans still coming in here thinking we owe them something.. Sorry Cards fans.. Just rather ill with the nonsense..

Sir William Pitt was the Secretery of State of England during the French and Indian War and also the colonies' biggest supporter during the start of the Revolution. It is for him Pittsburgh is named after.

I'm with you GM. As far as I'm concerned Grimm has had the biggest impact on the Cardinals. The turnaround of the offensive line has been amazing. I'll always associate him with the Redskins, not the Steelers.
And I'm not familiar with this concept of giving credit to other NFL teams for the play of our own team.
Also, I met so many losers that claimed to be Pittsburgh fans before the game, that I really don't care for those folks. They were losers coming in and bigger losers leaving. They really should think of moving on at this point. That's all I have to say, looking forward to the Carolina game.

At least somebody around these parts gets it ...
Yeah. Its all about you, isn't it, Pittsburgh fan?
Usually, yes.
The Cards couldn't possibly be a better team than the mighty Steelers, eh?
The Cardinals are not a better team than the Steelers. That said, the Cardinals were the better team on Sept. 30th. What people forget is that regular-season wins are, for the most part, worthless. Sure, it's great to win during the regular season ... but what do you truly get for those wins?
Pittsburgh throttled New England during the 2004 regular season, and what did that mean when they whooped us en route to Super Bowl XXIX? Indianapolis decimated Pittsburgh during the 2005 regular season, and what did that mean when the Steelers stole a game from them en route to the Super Bowl XL Championship?
Keep the regular season in context, it is only meant to secure a spot in the post-season. If we're both fortunate enough to meet again in Super Bowl XLII, and Pittsburgh wins by 30 points, what good does your Week 4 win do for you? Would you rather be 14-2 and lose in the first round of the playoffs or be 11-5 and be Super Bowl Champs?
Only a Steeler fan can turn a "Congrats to Coach Whiz and the Cardinals" into a "Glad we could help" post.
It was never meant as a "Congrats to Coach Whiz and the Cardinals" ... it was meant as a "Congratulations, you're now in first place and "You're Welcome" because we were able to help get you there by beating Seattle ... otherwise, you'd still be in 2nd place"

Worthless. That's why all those drunk, idiot Steeler fans infected our stadium and screamed like a bunch of lobotomized monkeys....because the game was worthless. And you can just forget all that nonsense about "The Cards aren't the better team, they were just better that day" and shove it. Hmmm ... I was at the game and I don't recall anybody crying. The Steelers fans went to the game because it was fun, we enjoy football and we love our team. Everybody wanted to win, but I doubt you met any Steelers fan that truly cared if we lost. It was an out-of-conference game that is meaningless in the big picture. That's the problem with fans like you, you're so used to losing that you treat the regular season like the playoffs ...
It only counts when, if you lose, you don't play anymore games.
I'll tell you what ... find me ONE national sports publication outside of Arizona and Pennsylvania (no homers) that says the Cardinals are a better team than the Steelers and then I'll believe it.
And if Seattle was a better team in Super Bowl XL, why did the blow coverage on Hines Ward's TD and fail to touch Willie Parker on his 70+ yd. TD run? Pittsburgh made all of the big plays, they were clearly the better team on that day.[/QUOTE]

Pittsburgh is a hole. People leave Pittsburgh to move to nice places. Nobody living in Arizona says to himself "I miss the cold, noise, pollution, disease, and misery of Pittsburgh. I hate this sunshine, nice weather, and strong economy. Pack up the Winnebego!! It's off to PA!!."
There are refugees from Pittsburgh all over the country. They are so habituated, they even run their mouths when the Steelers get owned. Case in point....

Just when I think you're OK, you negate it with this post...please don't be a poor loser. Alot of what you say here can be applied to my college...history, tradition and winning...yet we were impressed by the effort Stanford put in to win fair and square against us...thus the Stanford players were given a standing ovation by the Trojan fans at the end of the game.
It makes no difference at which level, college or pros..a fan who returns to the winning team's MB to brag about their tradition and blah, blah, blah, and ask for thanks because our FO was smart enough to sign their former coaches, is really grasping for credibility.

I'm baffled by most of this thread. JLAS began it by saying "Glad we could help our former coaches rise to the top of the NFC West." How in any way is he doing anything other than saying tongue in cheek - We beat Seattle for you. You're welcome.????? Then it almost immediately turns ugly, name calling, insults, etc. He's been on the board before and has been very supportive of the Cardinals AND he's pretty good at slinging back the insults when provoked but for the life of me, I just don't get this one.

As am I ... this should have been a 10 post thread, however, apparently I did not spell out my compliment appropriately.
As some of you know, I was one of the first to post my congratulations after AZ beat the Steelers. In fact, I was gushing (and still am) about your run defense that day. I returned to (in a abstract way) joint-celebrate the fact that we beat the Seahawks, and by doing so, assisted Arizona into first place. My post did not intend to imply anything about "You should thank us for your coaches, etc" as we are doing quite fine without them and you are doing quite well with them. It was merely a compliment to your program and a salute to your coaches recent-history with the Steelers. And with us on a BYE week (as Annie pointed out), I don't have anybody else to bother.
I only defended the Steelers (or myself) when provoked by Cardinals fans doing exactly what they were claiming Steelers fans did (behave like an ***). I hope you will find that I didn't start slinging tradition, rings or other comments unless challenged to do so. Before posting, a mirror may be a useful tool for some on this board ... *cough* Annie *cough*
To TailGater, lkratavil49 and the others who obviously understood my first post, I look forward to running across you guys on here in the future. To the rest of you, I will try to be more obvious with my compliments in the future ... and for your sake, I hope your team proves to be deserving of many more.

Matt went on the IR today, Levi is out, Q is out. We are a bit testy today. It's like we are PMSing. Cut us some slack.:iconrolf:
We do, but I'll give them credit for helping us out when they come up big for us. Just like I'd expect them to do for us if we took down one of their rivals when they needed it.
Um..you mean just like Tiz did when you guys beat Pitt which helped ease the pain of losing to Cleveland. lol
1) I thought you were saying "Youre welcome" because of Whiz and gang. You waffled on that one.
I just wasn't clear enough, I guess. My bad.
2) Thank you for confirming that you're an arrogant Steeler fan that only thinks regular season wins are worthless when the Steelers lose. If you were 5-0, you'd be singing a different story.
Again, putting words in my mouth. If you knew me, which I realize you don't, you would know that this is completely untrue. I learned a hard lesson in 2004 when Pittsburgh went 15-1 and didn't make the Super Bowl. That is when I realized the irrelevance of regular season wins and why, next season, being 11-5 was completely fine with me ... we just needed to do enough to get an invitation to the dance where anything could happen.
3) The Cardinals ARE a better football team. Your O-Line sucks. Our defense will own your offense and Willie Parker. Our offense will drop another 400 yards on you.
You have one tough quarterback, but only average recievers. Although our corners suck, we'd still win.
By saying our O-Line sucks, you are discrediting your own team. The Steelers are the 2nd best in rushing YPG right now, which is a testament to how GOOD our O-Line is. What the Cardinals did in shutting down the run, shows not that our O-Line sucks, but rather that your run defense (that day) was superb.
If the Bills had won on MNF, would you think they were a better team than Dallas? Probably not ... and until AZ has a better record and sustains it for more than five weeks (like, I don't know, a season?) you'll be hard pressed to find anybody other than you and your buddies that believes that AZ is the better team.
And if we do meet in the Super Bowl, it would be another 21-14 Cardinal win. Just like last time. Same game plan. Same domination. Same result.
You should ask Tony Dungy and Peyton Manning what it's like to dominate the Steelers during the regular season and then play them again in the post-season ... I don't recall it working out to well for them.
Now go to your Steelers board and keep arguing that you're the best team in the league when you win, and denying giving credit to the other team when you lose. You'll fit right in over there.
I actually don't post on the Steelers board because it's not well moderated. In fact, this Cardinals board is probably in the top 5 of league boards (the Colts board is still the best). I gave AZ all of the credit in the world when you won, and I have never claimed that Pittsburgh is the best team in the league. I believe that there are at least five or six teams better that Pittsburgh right now, but no, Arizona is not one of them.
