Kurt Warner's 1999 Season Rated 3rd highest Ever

This is who we have starting at qb. Though he isnt 100% healthy this will be the first time since 2001 he will have a good Oline blocking for him with a solid run game. I predict we make the playoffs and we SPANK the Buccaneers.

That's a nice prediction and I would like to see it come to fruition. Warner still has some greatness left in him. But there is one nagging question. Can the Cards beat a decent team on the road? We'll see tomorrow.

Again, while I agree with you for the most part, I don't think this system doesn't suit Kurt so much as the teams that he's been on that has run something like a BC offense have just been pretty bad.

When he was in NY, he took a team that stank, to a 5-2 record before big problems emerged on the D, Strahan going down being the start of that, and the lost 2 in a row and Caughlin sat him.

But the truth was, he was marching that team up and down the field. Tiki never had better numbers than when Kurt was QB. As I've said before, Kurt's TD numbers didn't reflect it, but on 20 total extra passing yards on 12 plays he would've had 15-18 td's. Shocky alone accounted for half of those where he missed the endzone by a yd.

In AZ it's be much the same. This year has been better, but how many times would we get inside the 5 in his first two yrs here and NOT be able to run it in, then on third down ask him to throw the td. Everyone in the stadium new it was a pass. In any case, I think last week in WASH, and the START of the CAR game showed, he can run this SLOWER paced O fine, but the team has to deliver on their end of the job also.

If you're going to keep the game in the 20's the D can't be having brain farts. On O, it's obvious that mistakes loom larger because the game is shorten by BC. So an int, fumble, missed block, on the pass OR run, IS a much bigger deal, than for an O who just gets the ball back and marches down the field on 6 plays and scores again. Is that how Warner wants to play? Sure. BUT his stats in a BC offense are not to shabby either.

Oh, and I didn't metion penalties because it's just laboring a point, but obviously THAT'S killing us, BC or otherwise.

I think Warner's 1999 season is better than Manning's 2004. Warner actually didn't play a lot in many of the 4th quarters, and he went on to win the Superbowl and Superbowl MVP.

Can't say about Brady's 2007 season yet. It's only halfway done, and remember we had the same thing in 2004 with manning; projected to throw for 60+ TDs, but ended up "only" getting 49. I'll wait until after the season to evaluate him, as should Prisco.

Yeah I'll agree here, it was absolute magic to see Martz Madness back in 98/99. Martz and his theories on biometrics worked perfect for Kurt. I'd check raise my own grandmother if it meant that I could witness the 1 on 1 sessions with Kurt and Martz.

I didnt think so.

Brady, Elway, Favre, Aikman, Manning all failed behind terrible OL's. Pull up season records and you will confirm this quite easily.

Let it go and quit blaming Warner for the BRUTAL team he was "trying" to guide.

To be realistic, the team this year isnt much better..the difference this year is the LEAGUE in general isnt very competitive..the win this year are against bad teams (I consider PITT to be a marginal team as well..shockingly).

If Warner doesnt have the tools around him to succeed, he will not..

yes you have the name as your starting QB but that doesn't mean he's the same player. Hell I like the name Steve Young for a QB but doesn't mean that i'd expect or want him QBing my team now...altho it wouldnt' make a difference cause we have Steve Ancient Mcnair.

Yeah, that's why the switch was so bogus. It's not to say for sure they make the playoffs, but at 5-4 it was there to be had. I mean how bad is your qb playing when his only little stint there STILL hasn't be equaled by the guy the opted out for. At the very least they wouldn't have lost the next 6 games. And for anybody who thinks it wouldn't have mattered, Tiki's #'s went down considerably once Eli took over. They're still trying to get Eli at over 60% for the year, and the team he has around him is far superior over all to the team when Warner was there.

But that's either here not there now. Suffice to say AZ has now made a lot of up grades, though it's ironic that in his first start he get really hurt by the thing that was showing the most improvement, the oline.

In any case, we'll find out a lot about this team tomorrow. I haven't made any predictions mainly because we've been a little all over the map, as to how we're playing. Some say we haven't played well on the road. I don't have that opinion. We played real well, we just were a tad unfortunate and came up on the wrong side of the score. But nobody handed us our head. So...if we hold true to form, we should be in this game. If we play BC, we're probably in for a dog fight. If our D can keep us in it, it probably comes down to some last minute stuff again.

But Wiz has said he like a faster start. He knows this is Warner's strenght. I'm sure he's well aware Q & Fitz would like to play this way. If I'm Wiz, I break out the old GSOT footage, sit Kurt down, say to him, show me what you really like to do, and put the game in Kurt, Edge, Q and Fitz's hands.

The only thing that ever really hurt Martz is he would forget about using Faulk. I think if we used a version of the HUPO mixed in with the INDY version of the no HUD, this could be a very dangerous team on O. And there's only one way to find out. Turn them loose. That's what I'd do.
