Planning a road trip, want to see where other fans are going. I am leaning towards the Jets, or Panthers for a road trip. Anyone else already have an away game penciled in for this year?

Philly - I do one away trip a year. Last year - the opening game in San Fran - great fun. Eventually I want to get to every stadium in the NFL.

If I go to one, it'll be to the Rams game. But since I plan on being in Waco, Texas the night before the game, I highly doubt I'll make it back, unless the Saturday football game is one of those 11:30 am kickoffs which I loathe so much.
Even then, I'll have just driven 11 hours, putting me in Missouri at about 2:30-3 am without having been to church, so the short answer is no.

Watching the Cardinals IS CHURCH!
I pray more at their games than I do anywhere else. I yell, I scream...I'm passionate...I've got all my clothes on...where's this going....I'll stop before I type something I shouldn't...

I don't. I'm actually quite calm during games. Win or lose, it's just a game, and there's going to be another one coming soon. Plus, I can't affect the outcome of the game one bit. So why should I worry about it?
For those who can't read between the lines, I'm not condemning those who do get worked up about their team. That's perfectly reasonable. It's just not part of my personality.

after the bears - cards game (sorry to bring it up!) my friend was amazed how i didn't kick anything or run out of the house screaming.
although there are some times i have trouble keeping my composure, haha... mostly during celtic matches, but, when you are drunk at ten thirty in the morning at a bar with plenty of people who share your enthusiasm, singing on the hoops, you get kinda caught up in the moment.

Yeah, drinks do kind of affect that. But when you're among fellow fans, enjoy.
As for that Bears game, I imagine it would have been tougher to take if the Cards hadn't been so bad already. As it was, I never thought victory was a possibility until Rackers attempted the field goal at the end, and even then, I expected it to get blocked because as I told my roommate, it couldn't simply miss because that was how we lost the last one. So when I called it right, all I could do was laugh.

I'm almost positive it's because I'm a journalist. To me, nothing is as good as it appears or as bad as it appears to a regular fan. But for all I know, there could be another reason.

Fans were rude, extremly rude. Then there was objects being thrown, the constent threats. Security was a woman dressed in 49ers apperal. The stadium is old and falling apart, and not in the best part of town. Parking, we tailgated with as many cardinals fans as we could find. It was interesting to say the least.

Our stadium is way out dated. It's old and looks like ****. But Candlestick has history and meaning. Your field level seats will be good the atmosphere is really good down there but I guarantee you will be getting ragged on all game because your a cardinals fan. All your going to hear is how your team has never won anything and stuff like that. Last season the Cardinals fans were getting ragged on all game. I saw an eagles fan get the heck beat out of him at a Monday night game about 5 years ago. Our fans get rowdy. Have fun.

IMHO security should never be in team colors. They should be in easy to identify attire that screams "security".
Their job is to be impartial and keep order, not to support the home team. If they want to do that, quit and buy season tickets.

I was there last year...some cool...some not. Started off with someone throwing peanuts at the girl next to us who was wearing Cards gear. Figured out who it was...and notified security....security could care less...again it continued then asked security then eventually asked for his manager. The manager came over and I explained the situation...he gave the guy a good scolding...but it came back to haunt me. I stood up a few times when the Cards got 1st downs...he told me to sit down...I said what?...he came over once more and said to sit down or I'd be kicked out...he wanted me kicked out...he tried to have me removed and the manger came back. I explained the situation of cheering...he didn't care...he wanted me out. I had to beg him and tell him my wife and dad were down there and I'd flown from AZ...I couldn't believe I was being thrown out for cheering. They finally buckled and let me go....but I was very very close to being tossed....for cheering.
it settled down after that.
I was in their stadium and should expect some harassment....but I thought they went overboard.
I'll expect the same...but worse in Philly.
it's worth it....who cares about it...

I'd email the league office with this story if I was you.
Tickets costing what they do, as a fan you are entitled to a safe inviorment. Not just for yourself, but for you wife, kids, or if it's the case girlfriend. It's one thing for another fan to be out of line. It's something COMPLETELY different when it's security/management that's out of line.
In the NBA finals a bunch of Laker fan beat on a Celtic fan. The game was being show from Boston on the jumbo trons. That was the end of that. They cancelled the next game at the Stapels Center! As much as that was a bummer, it was the right thing to do. Kids shouldn't have to be subjected to junk like that! I NEVER saw anything like that at a pro game when I was a kid! That's all we need, the game to turn in to soccor. Gun fight at the fifty yard line.

Raider games are like that every home game the raiders have. the raiders play in oakland which is about a 20 minute drive if that from Frisco. I hate the Raiders and their fans represent the raiders in a poor way.

It has been like that for decades though. Thats why they call them home games. I think you take the risk going into another teams house rooting for the away team. I agrre that there are some *** holes that take it way to far. I never fight or throw something at another teams fan. I do jaw with them though. I went to the Cards Niners game last season in AZ and I was screaming and rooting my team on and not one Cards fan said a thing to me. Even after Rackers missed the field goal for the win, I was really giving the Cards fans a hard time after that one & then when we won I and a ton of 49ers fans were yelling and screaming all the way to our cars. Still no one hassled me. Now I scratch that to Cards are just used to losing and have had nothing yet to have pride over. Now if I was in Philly, Chicage, Dallas, Oakland, teams with a history of rowdy fans then I might have been screwed. But I have never and never would fight someone over a football game, it's just a game.

I'll admit Martz can be a good offensive mind but he does tend to get his qb hit a lot in his offenses. Hopefully we'll get some good hits on some sacks on Smith. For some reason the 49ers were like another team against the Cards last year. They seem to like playing us but from a talent perspective they can only hold us down for so long before the Cards offense explodes on them and the defense improves this season.

Absolutely. St. Louis is nothing like the low class behaviour you hear happening in other facilities in this thread.

No they call them home games because they are playing where the team is located, where normally you have the majority of your fans....hence home. Not becuase you have a bunch of drunk wanna-be-tough guys threating women, and children, and throwing objects which can cause serious harm to someone.
I paid just as much as the other fans in the stadium to watch the game without you(not you in general just ****** fans) throwing beer, hot dogs, batteries, and other objects in my direction.
Your stadium is a joke when it comes to security, and you cannot argue the facts.

St Louis is a good tourist town, so your wife and kids will enjoy the area. do the Arch for sure. Most people in St Louis don't hate the Cardinals, they just hate the Bidwills. So the fans are a lot of fun at the game. Last year when Lienart got hurt, they cheered when Warner came on the field. Same thing most fans love Kurt, but hate Brenda.

There is a group of us (that is growing every year) that tailgate in an empty warehouse lot next to the train tracks close to the river. We are about a 10 minute walk to the stadium. I am thinking that we are up to about 25 or more. So when it gets closer to the game PM me and I will give you my cell phone # so that you can find us and park next to us. There were AT LEAST 25 of us last year.
Only thing that stinks about tailgating in St. Louis is all of the parking lots are in the run down part of the riverfront.
Surely there has to be a better parking lot for us to tailgate in.

What will be available will most likely be nosebleed. Some of us have a connection in St Louis for tickets. I just emailed him to see if he is going to be able to help us out again this year.
If it is possible, cut me in the action. Pm me with the cost & where to send the money to.
That would be Arizona Elvis. Last year he got a group of tickets on or around the 40 yard line. Ms Rolle was there also. I sit usally behind the goal post in row 7 (brother in laws tickets).

Me and the wife are headed to St Louis for the game. See you all there. Trying to get some tickets where everyone is at, so once the tickets are bought, maybe we could all post what sections etc. so I can try and get some for us near you guys. See you all out there.

With 4000 posts, I'm reluctant to believe you're so laid back when watching the Cardinals.
Sorry.

You know what? Believe what you will, it doesn't bother me either way. I know that what I've said is true, but I don't need to convince you of that, nor can I on a message board, nor do I intend to try.

So, number of forum posts are somehow related to your level of hype during a game? Where are you getting this from?
My brother practically jumps out of his seat onto the field during the game, and he's never made a forum post in his life. Your theory of correlation between posts and game day excitement level is flawed to put it mildly.

No.
Simply the fact that with 4000 posts, this guy is likely visiting the MB daily (and during the offseason too).
When you think about a football organization that much, it says something about you. You're obsessed with Cardinals football.
But thats not to say I'm not.
I just find it hard to believe that somebody who is constantly endulging their lives with football all year long, building anticipation, can simply go to a game and sit back.
It's obviously more than a game to you. Its a part of your life.

I'll be in AZ to watch the Vikings game in December. It's really kool bc this will be my first time in the new stadium :)
Oh sorry, I only skimmed the title. No I won't be at an away game this year. Although the chance to go to STL for one is always an option

Again, I can't prove it isn't to you, and I don't intend to try. But it really is just a game to me.
I'm on the message board a lot because it's the only message board I've found that is actually interesting, and I like message boards, I like talking sports. I have yet to find a Pacers board, and the Jays and Sens boards quite frankly suck. Plus, I've been on this board for 2 1/2 years now, so my posts are going to be high. For me, it's not an obsession.
Now, when Daniela Hantuchova plays tennis, as she will next week at the Bank of the West Classic, that might be an obsession. Good luck finding a good tennis message board, though.
