in st louis you HAVE to try TED DREWES frozen custard. it's famous in st louis and something you can only get there.
also check out the central west end (cobblestone streets, very "european" - where i used to live) and the zoo, museum and science center in forrest park (right around the central west end) are FREE
make sure you have some st. louis style ribs.
and if you want something kinda classy. go to the adams mark hotel downtown and go to the little jazz club inside called "pierre's". it's a an awesome jazz lounge where this jazz trio used to play led by a guy named "peanuts". used to take all my dates there in college...i think the band saw me with like 12 different girls...lol. but trust me, it's really nice.

Lacledes down by the riverfront(right across from the Dome) has some great restaurants and things to do plus the arch is right there along with the museum. Have fun.

I don't know if it is still there, but Muddy Waters at Lacledes landing was a great blues bar. Spaghetti Factory is a very good italian eatery, but if you want the best italian food in the world, go the "The Hill" in south St. Louis. You will never be disappointed. Tony's downtown is one of the best places to eat in town. Tommy Lasorda and all of the heavyweights eat there whenever they are in town. Dierdorf and Harts is a great steak house and Ozzie Smiths place is a great place to hang. Sorry, but if I put every place to visit I would get writers cramp. Have fun.

The Budweiser brewery is a pretty cool place, as is the Cathedral Basilica.

Don't forget to tailgate with us on Biddle Street across from the dome near the river. We usually get around 20-30 Cardinal fans there and have plenty to drink and eat!!! Go Cards!!!! By the way--try Charlie Ghittos on 6th Street--great Italian Food and a great atmosphere. Tommy Lasorda goes there every time he is in town!

Yes it is we are about a 20 minute walk tailgating parking lot. It has been $20 to park there game day.
Facing the arch toward the river, there is a bridge just to left of the arch. We are about 4-5 blocks left of the bridge and just west of the railroad tracks in an empty (pay) lot. I would give you my cell phone #, but I am probably changing cell phone companies next week and I don't know if I will be able to keep my same number.

I'm considering having a party Saturday night before the game on my deck (huge, w/ fireplace, firetable and Tivo'd HD Cardinals games on the TV).
Would any of you Cards fans be up for that?
I'm about 25 minutes from downtown STL (all interstate (i-44) every easy to get to).
Wife is a great cook and she makes plenty of different types of food.
Go Cardz!

I know that truefan, and 12 others including myself are looking for stuff to do. If you have no problem allowing visiting Cards fans into your home(which from the pictures is amazing)it could possibly work out. I have shot you my cellphone number through a PM, call me on Friday afternoon time, I should be checked into the hotel around 2:ish your time.
