March 23 (10:00 PM): Niners land BIG prize… The San Francisco 49ers signed future Hall of Fame G Larry Allen. Allen, a 12-year vet released by the Cowboys for salary cap reasons, brings veteran leadership and instant credibility to the young 49ers offense. Although some say Allen's play has slipped somewhat over the years, he is still as strong as they come and should help second-year QB Alex Smith's development.

the niners left side is strong now and very big.there running game will be physical.bryant can stretch the field and lets not forget who there receivers coach is.he can make average rec.good with his coaching.norv is a very good off coordinator.if we leave last years lbs the same they will run no stampede all over us.its difficult to disguise and confuse when they dominate the line of scrimage and chew up time forcing our unstoppable offense:sarcasm: to play flawless.someone please tell the cardinals last years team plus the edge equals us fans on the edge of our seats barely winning if we do and a 6 or seven win season.

Last years team with a real oline coach, decent special teams coach, more experience for the young guys, not having 15 guys on IR, a new DT, Edge, and you still think they are going to suck because they haven't signed every free agent. :frown:

not every just not the right ones.edge is great but hes not superman.all that money and clancy for defense all do respect.now all i hear is vernon davis oline qb of future.wheres the defense?even when healthy cards cant play with the big boys and that goes beyond a rb.coaching can help but teams figure out your weaknesses and no coaching in the world gonna help average talent.

We may regret not going after someone like Allen for the leadership that he can bring to the OL ....

EXACTLY!
It was only a 2 year deal and not a ton of $$$.
He would have been a GREAT fit with AZ.
