With Clancy at NT the Giants improved from 28th against the run in 2004 (giving up 4.3 YPC) to 12th against the run in 2005 (giving up 3.9 YPC).
Improvement of 16 spots. We were #15 already without Clancy in run D.

He just likes to see his own words in print. It doesn't have to make sense.

In 2004 the Giants defense was ranked 17th in points allowed and 13th in yards allowed. In 2005 they were 14th in points allowed and 24th in yards allowed. Shall we put all that on one Giants player as well?
The Cardinals gave up less total yards rushing last year then the Giants. The Giants great 3.9YPC average you tout is exactly .1 yard better then the Cardinals did last year. We both gave up exactly the same number of first downs rushing.
You should start some more threads using statistics that are both extremely selective and completely meaningless. And you should shout in all caps very often in case those who read your posts aren't blown away by your overwhelming football savvy.

I love the signing of Clancy , but lets face it hes only one guy in a four man front. He does his job and it will make it better for the rest of the dline and defense.
Key addition , but only one piece to the puzzle. It's not we signed Lawrence Taylor in his prime or Derrick Thomas. Hes a linemen meant to take on double teams and penetrate, and thats just what he will do.
Some folks will see that he is taking on so many double teams this year and cry because hes not getting enough tackles or getting to the QB enough. But in reality he was brought here for one reason, to clog the middle with double teams so it makes the defense more pro-active and not so reactive.
He's just a stress reliever , and again, I do think it was a good signing.
