The Vikings will not have the Williams brothers on the D-Line, and now they don't have their starting Quarterback playing, due to a twisted lower back. We need to make the most out of this game, let's start using the running game, and work on stopping the run. It's pretty obvious Jackson will be the starter, so that should help us prepare against a mobile quarterback. They do have AP so that is no gimme no matter whose at QB.

Where do you get the Williams will not play? Link? Last I heard the injunction was in place and it was possible that it would be next year when a ruling would be made. Here is another post discussing this issue that state there will not be a resolution this week.

Yea I guess he is doubtful at this point, but I wouldn't be surprised if he sat considering how well Jackson played in Detroit. Will be interesting to see.

I want Gus..
He is a pocket QB and not very good at that. Tavaris moves out of the pocket, not as great as McNubb but I think that style of QB gives us more problems.
Neither one is very good, and I hope we dont come with a flat game plan like in the second half last game (as Kurt mentioned in his post-game interviews).
Three games to get the team on the same page, functioning and playing hard..no relaxing and playing tight please.

What ever way you want to spin it or what context you take it in ,they have been winning and doing much better and winning more with Ferotte than Jackson. Probably because he can stretch the field more and go deep, but what i like is for a defense like ours that is second in turnovers in the league ,Ferotte is made to order, Warner's turnover reputation pales in comparisin.

Kurt didn't say they came out flat in the second half, He said they came out planning to be conservative, which is exactly what they were!:Cards logo: :cardinals:

Jackson expected to start; Frerotte has fracture
December 10th, 2008 – 7:11 PM by Judd Zulgad
Quarterback Tarvaris Jackson is expected to start for the Vikings on Sunday at Arizona, although team officials are believed to be holding out hope that Gus Frerotte will be able to play. According to people with knowledge of the situation, the reality is that Frerotte will miss a week or two because of a fracture in his lower back.
Running back Chester Taylor told WCCO television today that Jackson would be the Vikings’ starting quarterback on Sunday, his first start since Sept. 14 when the Vikings lost to Indianapolis to drop to 0-2 on the season. If Frerotte is sidelined for two weeks that means the earliest he would not return to the starting role would be the regular-season finale against the New York Giants at the Metrodome.
The Vikings could be in position to clinch the NFC North on Sunday, if the Saints lost at Chicago on Thursday. The Vikings would then need to beat the Cardinals to capture the division.

Didnt Hood have a pick six against Ferrotte when we played the Rams last year???
If so I say it would be better for Ferrotte to heal up and get on the field...Would love to see the blurr that is DRC again!!!!

I was hoping to go against Gus, we seem to have more problem with Mobile QB's, but I'm confident either way.
I don't care who starts, the team wants that #3 and they're going to go out and take it.

Judge said today that the EARLIEST he would rule is this Friday, clearing the way for the 2 Saints to play tomorrow night.

Pat and Kevin Williams appear to be safe from suspension for a second week because of some helpful timing issues in their case in a federal court in Minneapolis. Judge Paul Magnuson, who is overseeing the NFLPA case against the NFL, is tied up in court this week and can't get to the Williams case until Friday at the earliest. With the Saints playing on Thursday, Saints defensive end Will Smith and halfback Deuce McAllister will get to play, so it would seem unlikely that Magnuson would uphold the suspensions on the Williamses. Magnuson is not under any deadline except the NFL's urging that he decide on the case. The Williamses will continue to hope to stretch out the case for a couple of weeks.
Unfortunately, the only thing that is for sure what it comes to the judicial system Is that nothing is for sure.

I dont see why, just because of a schedule blip, the judge would let players play just to even things up. If he decided the NFL acted correctly surely that would stand immediately.
Having said that, I'd rather face the Vikes in the Championship game, with those two suspended than this Sunday ;-)
