View Full Version : Getting Greedy

I must admit, when we were 7-3 I was getting greedy. For years I was pushing the idea of crawling before we can walk. When we finished 8-8 last season, there were a lot of guys here not happy but I was happy with it and gave the reason that it takes time to build a champion. But this season, I got greedy. 7-3, beating the Cowboys, thoughts of a #2 or even a top seed if we beat the Giants took over my rationale. But now that we're division champs, first time since I was 10, and we're hosting a playoff game, first time since my Dad was 7, I'm ecstatic. I still want to see us win at least the home playoff game and depending on what happens after that, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. I do want to see us as winners(more than 8 wins) and I believe we will come out of this with at least 10 wins. So, there, I've said it. I'm happy we;ve taken this next step. Now we can move forward and gain the respect we deserve.

Getting 2 of the next three games at home helps this team.

It still won't be easy though.

The Vikings are not a bad team. They got a great run defense, which forces teams to pass on them. They will give up yardage there, but since they know teams will pass they will also make plays. Their offense has been doing just enough, and sometimes Peterson will run all over the place.

The Patriots are still a good team, although not as good as they have been in the past. Still, the Cards must prove they can win in the cold, on the road, and/or on the East Coast.

The Seahawks are playing hard, they had the Patriots last week and Seneca Wallace was having a heck of a day. Whiz reportedly said he may rest some starters (I also saw where he said he didn't want players to lose any momentum during that week) and they Cards may not "play to win the game" in this one, although I think they should.

Win against the Vikings is very possible, and becomes a lot more possible if somehow the Williams' duo is suspended for that one. Most are picking the Cards to win it, but still, Jared Allen will get to fully focus on rushing the passer... not good.

The Patriots will give up points and yards, but can the Cards stop them? The Cards offense did get going in Philly after a while, so they can move the ball in the cold, but they can't afford to come out without the engine started that week. Win is possible, but probably not going to be favorited.

Cards will be favorited against the Seahawks, and should easily win, unless they rest players. Maybe they get up early (if they can) and then try to rest some players, who knows. What if Warner is close to that passing yards record? Will Whiz try to let him get it? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Right where we want them, ay?

It's OK that the Vikings aren't a bad team. Beating a first place team will back the haters off a tad.
