FOUND THIS ******** ON YAHOO ANSWERS. ****** HATERS.

Are the Arizona Cardinals legit? Should they be allowed to compete in the playoffs?[/[B]B]Winning a weak division in which they played a weak schedule against these weak divisional opponents shouldn't put anyone in the playoffs. Good teams are penalized for playing a tough schedule in a tough division and not even getting a wild card invite. Should the NL revamp this system.

I don't think the Cardinals could beat a top college team.

The Cardinals did not clinch a playoff spot "fair and square". The clinched due to a technicality in the rules that requires the team with the best record in each division is in the playoffs. Regardless of how weak that division is or how bad that team may be.

No. It just so happens that the other divisions are as good. No, the Cardinals aren't playing the Jets, Patriots, and Dolphins on a regular basis but they clinched that spot fair and square.

The Cardinals have the benefit of playing in the piss-poor NFC West this season. They look good but putting up big numbers against stagnant defenses. Unfortunately, whenever tested against a team with some mettle from another division, they are usually manhandled. The Cards will propel whichever wildcard team they face in the playoffs into the next round.
This pretty much guarantees the Giants making the Super Bowl

The score againts Cardinals and Patriots might be 47-7 but don't judge the Cardinals by this game! Yeah I'm from AZ and support them. But if you do see the other games then they're ok. Also it's HOME ADVANTAGE for the patriots so yeah! AND...the snow. They haven't played in snow for like 25 years. So that explains alot.

The Cards sure look bad today.

And the Patriots are playing their best football of the year. It'd be a shame if the Patriots missed the playoffs this year.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

I'm not a fan of the Cowboys/Eagles, but they are sure a LOT better than Arizona and deserve a playoff spot.

It's ridiculous that the Patriots might not make the playoffs even though they're playing the best football in the AFC East.

The Cardinals were good earlier in the season, but the have just broke down over the past few weeks and do NOT deserve to be in the playoffs.

giggl3z9: The Cardinals have been down to the Eagles 28-0, Vikings 31-0, and Patriots 47-0 over the past four weeks, so you can even judge the off other games and still see that they're not good.

As someone else on another thread pointed out, last year NE played in a piss poor division and nobody was saying anything about their cheap wins against the dregs of the east.

What goes around comes around. They were just on the short end of it this time. When we beat MIA early on everybody called that a cheap win! When we beat BUF early on, everyone thought that was a great win. When we beat DAL we were for real! The 49ers everyone said sucked. They went East and beat WAS. We beat them twice and they are called cheap wins. Yet they WON 4 of their last 5! SEA got a win over a playoff bound team, knocking them out. We beat them twice. Cheap wins?

The fact is, we won games we were suppose to win. We lost games in the end that didn't really have any barring on us getting to the playoffs. That's what happened. The teams that didn't get in LOST games that COUNTED! That they NEEDED! That doesn't mean they don't have a better team than us. But it doesn't mean for SURE that they do. We won when we had to. That's the facts!

Every year one division is going to be the "weakest in the NFL," and every year the team that wins that division will be in the playoffs. This argument comes up every year just with a different team. Ultimately, if the Cards do well in the playoffs, no one will care who they beat to get there.

The chargers are in the playoffs with an 8-8 Record come on now.

Every team knows the rules. Before the season even begins, they all know you have to beat the teams in your division. Do that, and you've got a 2 game lead on everyone else in your division. A cushion. Just play outside as good or better than everyone else in your division, and you win the division and a playoff spot. Everyone knows that.

Even Donovan.

It's no surprise to any team; just a surprise to ignorant observers who don't grasp that it has been this way (Division winners getting into the playoffs) for quite a long time.

Wild Card teams have won Super Bowls. The team with the most wins doesn't always win the Super Bowl. Don't believe that? Go ask a Patriots fan or a Giants fan about it; they might remember better.

The Cards, and the Chargers belong in the playoffs this week. And you know what? If they win their games, they'll belong in the playoffs next week too. If they don't they won't.

I see their points, we just need to win the playoff game this weekend and then they will know they are losers.:Cards logo:

This stuff bugs me to no end! If we want to talk about teams winning a weak division or because they only played weak teams, lets throw say the Titans in the mix. . . The first team they played with a threat they lost, to the Jets. What about the Chargers, not as much chatter about that, maybe because they go to the playoffs more often, or because everyone feels sorry for them with a couple of their losses.

I believe had the Cardinals not clinched so soon and had alittle more competition in the division they would have fnished with a MUCH better record. When things are on the line, it's amazing how well a team can play. The only reason they played so tough in the last three quarters of the Seattle game was to stay undefeated in the West. . . just my opinion

100% irrelevant. They became the second team ever to finish the season 8-8 and win the division, yet somehow the Cardinals don't deserve the playoffs at 9-7.

Let's not even mention the fact the AFC West blows every bit as much.

Very true. As always, though, the Cards are the easy target.

Oh, i agree with you, the AFC west is just as bad, however, public perception is that san diego has won 4 in a row, and everyone is very well aware of what the chargers are capable of. People are even picking them over the colts. However, and i might be mistaken, but I havent heard any unbiased analyst pick the cardinals to win this weekend.

You deserve the playoffs because you won your division, but you have to see where an outsiders view comes from. i like to think of it just like the BCS where losing late games in the season looks alot worse than losing early and getting hot at the end of the year.
