Hey everyone,
I just read that the Cardinals will be having a rookie / mandatory Minicamp May 1st-3rd. Honestly, I don't really know how these camps work, I know some of you go to Flagstaff every year, but that's for the real training camp right?

Where are these Minicamps, and where are the OTA's?
Is it allowed to visit?
As far as I know, these are without pads, so what are they doing really? Individual position workouts, conditioning, walk throughs?

Would be great if someone could shed some light on this for me, and if anyone gets to have first looks at our draftees, please report back!

Each year the Cards have their first mini-camp at their training facility in Tempe. On Saturday, they tie this with what they call a "Fan-Fest". Saturday morning, they set up tables for an autograph session with the kids and they have various games and things to do to entertain the kids as well. After the autograph session, there is a short practice, usually about one hour, where we get to see some position drills and some 7-on-7 type drills. It is like a compact version of an early training camp. We do get a first look at the draftees, but it is hard to get any type of assessment because we only see them briefly.

It's basic orientation to protect themselves from US and the media. introduce the playbook and specific focuses per position and individual player aimed at preperation for the all team mini camp. It is basic preperation and will help evaluate a rookies growth toward coaches goals in a few weeks. John Lott will get em going in the right direction!

So is the Fan-Fest part of the Mini-Camp?

Yes, We've gone there every year. It is now at the training center on Hardy. It's been there for several years. I hate to say this but it has become less fan friendly each year. The great thing is getting to see the newbies. I remember when Rolle was the man people came to see and Fitz burned him badly. :helmet:
