Looks good to me!
:cardinals:
I want this dude signed soon.
Cmon Cards we finally didn't have a high first round pick, we need to have this settled and good to go prior to all the Minicamps much less training camp!

Nice pics. You obviously have a great camera and know how to use it. Mine aren't nearly that good.
My son got his autograph at Fan Fest and he was very nice. Can't wait to see him in a real game.

During the 11 on 11 drills today, there was one play where Beanie showed his skills and hit the hole quickly and was in the defensive backfield before almost anybody could react. He really showed some talent and that was exciting to watch.

booman141, thank you for the pics. My wife is doing a girls-only day somewhere around Cottonwood and my car has a dead battery. Beanie looks great. I found the post at the Cardinals site about Johnson playing tackle very interesting - I didn't expect someone to have a shot at the starting line that quickly; and, I didn't think that Johnson had the feet to play tackle. If that monster can start, we could have a very potent running game in 2009. Exciting stuff!

I was surprised to see how big Wells really is. You don't get a full sense of this guys size until you see him standing with the other players. He's not a guy I would want to try to tackle, that's for sure. The kid is a beast, I can't wait to see him play.
:cardinals:
Oh and Boo, don't worry about the signing. Remember he was #31 overall he won't be tough to sign at all. The big problem has been the top 10 picks that want a ton of money. Wells will get himself a pretty nice deal, but nothing that the Cardinals are going to have to drag out to make sure they don't get hosed. I wouldn't worry about this one. Just remember, you probably won't see him signed until mid June due to NFL rules on when his last semester ends.

Darth,
I was impressed with how big Beanie is also. The guy is really built. I have a good feeling about Beanie.
I also watched a short clip of Fridays practice and Toler is mighty quick.
I am very excited about this years draft class. More so than I can remember ever being.

IF our o-line can get it together. We may do big things.

I posted a link to some of my Fan Fest pics in the Bird's Nest forum. There are a few of Beanie standing with Tim Hightower to give you some perspective as to how big this kid really is.
In practice, he even gave us a little taste of the wicked stiff arm--just a teaser, but they're not even in pads yet! :football:

I read this on rotoworld:
Like all incoming Ohio State NFL players, Chris Wells won't be available to the Cardinals until June 13.
Wells is required to wait until OSU holds graduation. He'll be there for all of training camp, but Tim Hightower will be Arizona's first-team tailback deep into the summer. "There will be a lot of ground to make up," coach Ken Whisenhunt said. Wells will miss 14 days of voluntary workouts.
Yet I see pics of him working out with the team.
What gives?

he is allowed to go to this mini camp and that's it until after OSU's quarter ends

I see a mean streak in Wells, tombstones in his eyes when He flips a switch like Jim Brown. I seen 1 pick in the sticky thread where he had the look. The others did not like these picks. I seen it a his presser too laugh laugh laugh, deep out of this world mean look than back too laugh.
Did you se it live at all?

The contract itself should be very easy, as previously mentioned it's really only the top 10-12 contracts that are tricky. For example, the last 6 picks from last year are:
26. Duane Brown/Texans/5 years/$11.4 million/$6.5 guaranteed
27. Antoine Cason/Chargers/5 years/$12.03 million/$?.? guaranteed
28. Lawrence Jackson/Seahawks/5 years/$11.25 million/$6.1 guaranteed
29. Kentwan Balmer/49ers/5 years/$11.5 million/$6 guaranteed
30. Dustin Keller/Jets/5 years/$12 million/$6 guaranteed
31. Kenny Phillips/Giants/5 years/$11.15 million/$?.? guaranteed
Chris Johnson was the latest RB to be picked in the 1st round last year at #24, and he got a 5 year/$12 million/$7 guaranteed contract. My guess, considering how much salaries went up just from 2007 to 2008, is that he will get something around 5 years/$14-$15 million/$9 guaranteed.
The big question will be whether or not we get him signed by training camp. The contract will be fairly easy, but for some reason they still never sign. If you look at all of the bottom-five picks for the last two years, they still aren't signing until the last week or week and a half of July. I think the biggest issue with this is that very few teams do much of anything with their first round picks until after OTA's.

He was here for the weekend, he's back at school now. We probably won't see him in AZ again till after the semester is over.

He is definitely a big dude at 6-1 235 but it seems like most of his bulk is in his upper body. He's got some skinny legs for a guy his size. But, I'm not worried about it. I'm sure John Lott already knows that and will have him in that squat rack ASAP!!!

Looks like everyone here is ready to crown his a--! (Beanie that is) LOL I am not so sure about Beanie yet. Looked ok at fan fest but what do you really learn at FF?
Short yardage? Yes. Stiff arm? Yes. Breakaway speed in the NFL? Does he have the moves to get up in the hole ? or the cutbacks? That is still a lingering question in my mind. Iwasn't tht impressed in his college campaign. I would have liked to have D. Brown instead. Wolf said Beanie is another Peterson with more bulk? That would be a blessing for sure. I am taking a wait and see approach.

Once in a generation do We come acroos this size with speed. And He was the Ohio state offense almost all of it! faced 8 and 9 in the box every play, every, game every year! You know me I'm going to miss Edge but Bettis, Riggins size with AP speed will be great. plug him into an offense that passes most the time and you got pressure on every defense we see for the next few years.

My son got his autograph at Fan Fest and he was very nice.
I would recommend getting pictures w/ the players instead. I grew up getting autographs of players, but in the end, its just a signature. They accumulate and wind up gathering dust in the attic.
I'd take a picture w/ Jerheme Urban over a Boldin autograph.

At this point I would take a Denny Green autograph over a boldin Autograph.

Early on he had fumblitis. I wonder if all that stacking the box ran his body down? Size and speed, on paper it looks good. Hopin this works out. To have a run game to compliment this top passing game would be amazing. Thesmel, I am hoping your right.

Breakaway speed in the NFL?
I realize it's college, but Beanie had enough speed to run away from some pretty fast defensemen in college games.

With these questions, I wonder what exactly you saw of his college campaign. It's definitely a question as to how this will translate into the pro game, but the college resume is hard to dispute when one is involved in heisman talk as a sophomore.
I would have liked to have D. Brown instead.
What exactly do you like about a back from the Big East versus a back from the Big 10 (all other things considered equal of course)?
Early on he had fumblitis.
As a freshman, not much the next two years.
I wonder if all that stacking the box ran his body down?
What makes you think his body was worn down at all?

Your sentiment is noted, and I fully understand the POV of the skeptic; however, I'm looking for more substantiation to your questions.
