I was just checking in to see how many are attending the Fan Club tailgate for today's game. I assume there is one at least.
Hopefully it rains till about noon then just remains overcast!

Not that I found.
Has anyone else paid for but not received their fan club membership card yet? I paid in May and have yet to get my card.

The new NFL rules on tailgating have changed the way we will have to do our tailgating. We were not able to set up last Saturday like we have in the past, so nothing was set up at all.
The crew that was going to do the setup was almost not allowed to even park in the parking lot. They were telling us that "wrapped" vehicles were not allowed in the lot.
As of right now I do not know how we are going to do tailgating for Friday (if at all). We are having a meeting tonight to talk about tailgating.
What hurts us the most (as with everyone else) we have to tear down before the game starts. That only leaves us with maybe a little over 2 hours of tailgating. It was going to take us a lot of time to get set up and to tear down. Only because we wanted to do the ultimate tailgating experience.
So now we will have to figure out how tailgating will work for the members and ourselves so that everyone can have a good time.

Let me get this straight. They want people to tear down their tailgate setup before the game starts? What a bunch of --------! We finally get some organized creative guys to start up a real fan club & they cannot tailgate. Something needs to change!

I don't think this is new NFL rules I think it depends on the team. As of today I have gone to several team websites and found that times for when the parking lots open, tailgating and when the stadium opens varies. I could not find tailgating hours for all the teams listed. And this is just an example of a few teams.
Buffalo - Tailgating is permitted in most stadium parking lots. Stadium lots open five (5) hours before the game and close approximately two (2) hours following a game.
Miami - Stadium parking gates open 4 hours prior to game time. Parking lots close 2 hours from the conclusion of regulation play.
NY Jets - The parking lots are open FIVE hours prior to gametime.
Houston - Gates to Reliant Stadium will open 90 minutes prior to kickoff. Miller Lite Parking Lots (except for the Platinum Lot) will open four hours prior to kickoff. Guests are welcome to continue tailgating up to one hour after the end of the game. However, in some instances guests may be asked to clear the parking lots before that time.
Denver - All permit parking areas open 5 hours prior to each game. All tailgate parties must conclude 30 minutes prior to kickoff.
Kansas City - Gates open 3 1/2 hours prior to kickoff
IMO this all Arizona Cardinals making the rules for tailgating, gates and what time the stadium opens. (Which by the way was changed this year from 2 hours before the game to 90 mins. before the game.)

Well we had a meeting tonight and the fan club will NOT be tailgating Friday. With all of the new restrictions, we are looking at other options prior to the home opener.
We are trying to figure out ways that will be fun for ourselves as well as for our members. We will keep everyone posted as we will try to brainstorm a way to still have a great tailgating party.
What about the deal south of Beth Home in that vacant lot?
I feel for all that are trying to get their stuff closer to the Lawn. Cats and I watch people from WP who drag stuff from full size grills, 20 lb propane tanks, all of the good stuff that makes tailgating fun. Alot of work, muscle power and lots of hands.

We finally get a great team, a great stadium, and a Real Fan Club and the Cardinals do everything they can to make life miserable.
The fan base has grown, the "Brand" has leaped to near the top, and the Cardinals do everyhing they can to make life miserable.
When this ceases to be an enjoyable experience, the so-called band wagon fans will jump right back off again.
If the organization was content with the 25,000 at SDS games, more visiting team support, and no home field advantage, they're headed in the right direction.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

nonsense.also i park in east preffered and getting out of the charger game was ridiculous.

With all due respect, acting like this is an earth moving change by the evil organization is a little harsh. Adapt and overcome! Predicting the total demise of our great fan base is a little extreme...don't ya think?

You may be right, and I may be over reacting. I'm not predicting the Apocalypse, its just that the whole "Game Day Experience", the "Great Lawn" etc. has been so widely promoted. We've just been to the Superbowl and fan support is at the highest point in Cardinals' history. I would think that the emphasis would be on creating a more enjoyable experience... 10 fans at the game with 6 tickets is more than we could ever ask for. Imagine 65,000 inside and another 2,000 outside cheering at Tailgate TV's. That's a FAN BASE! The flip side of that is a family of 6, with 2 tickets, decides to put a few games on Stub Hub... What is the harm in allowing people to stay behind and watch the game on TV while those with tickets go inside? The thiefs don't abide by rules anyway, and they'll do their damage no matter what security does. This impacts only true fans who have more people than tickets. In fact, security is probably improved with a bunch of tailgates ongoing throughout the game. People who want to steal stuff generally go where there are no people around.
I have tickets, and I go inside for every game so this doesn't impact me. I just think that this is a rule that only impacts good people... Cardinals' Fans... and won't reduce theft or vandalism. It WILL save money though when you can keep only half the security force on the payroll after kick-off.

Well this is the cardinals message board, so lets hope they read their own board for fans opinions on policies and such.
Maybe they are just expirementing, seeing what fans will put up with tailgating wise before the real show begins?
Now I have never tailgated, but It is something I really would like to do one of these games. Hopefully I can connect with a few of you gaters here and come join you one of these sundays.
I would like to see the gates open 5 hours before! Talk about die hard! That would really promote fanship in our state! Think about that, 5 hours before, and 2 hours after, thats 10 hours of tailgating! One fun filled sunday, courtesy of the cardinals!

We asked security and PD if this was an NFL or Glendale thing. They responded that this comes directly from Bidwill.
We have had a long run with the whole day NFL experience, it has been a blast! But it looks like the run is about over. It is an expensive luxury but being able to enjoy a day of tailgating with a game makes it worth the expense. If they take away the full tailgate experience, they take away my means to justify the expense.
We all knew that things would change with a winning product...and I am glad to see the ownership finally getting their dues. The Bidwill family in my book is all class! I really hope this new tailgating policy fades but I'm willing to bet it's just a part of many changes to come. Safety, liability and expense in todays world seems to trump our fun...Bummer eh?

IMO it's a real shame. Enjoying the company and fun that is a tailgate before the game itself was a highlight of my time in AZ.

We tailgate in the oversized F lot. For those who don't know where that is - it is right off 91st Ave., just North of Bethany Home Rd. I for one could care less about the Great Lawn. Ever since U of P opened, all the "perks" for the fans have been directed at the Great Lawn and the rest of the 40,000 fans who park in other areas (like us) are ignored. So we have expanded our own tailgate and each year we have added new things so that, now, we probably have one of the best tailgate groups around. We, of course, have merged with other great groups, ie., Valle Luna, etc. We have a great time, great fun, great food and have Great Cardinal Fans all around us. So I say, who cares about the Great Lawn, or if the Red Army can't all be in one spot. Make your own, and if you would like, stop by and share a margarita with us!

The changes we're talking about here apply to ALL parking areas, not just the Great Lawn. You will not be able to stay behind and watch the game on TV in the F Lot either. I don't know if you've had people in your group come without tickets, just to tailgate, but that seems to be the biggest issue on most of the threads. This year, nobody is allowed to be tailgating once the game starts.

My advice is to have some of the "influential" people on this board (with ties to the peeps) to voice these opinions. If enough voice is heard, things could change. However to incessantly ***** about it in a never ending thread is useless. If you feel passionate about it, let your voice be heard. I doubt that this board's threads will turn the tide!

It can never hurt to take it right to them. I'm just sayin'. However, I really believe that some people rather ***** about something than take action. Since the rule doesn't affect me at all, I don't care either way. But those who this has affected, make your voices heard in as many ways as possible!

Here.. we can go to Pittsburgh and tailgate...Again.. The Bidwill's spots do not change..
http://forums.steelersfever.com/showthread.php?t=38140
They can tailgate at least five hours before.. I saw nothing on their code of conduct that shuts it down at game time. The Dolphins have had no change in policy.
Even the NFL policy which you can view on the Steeler's web site does not stipulate actual requirements.
IT IS LEFT UP TO THE INDIVIDUAL TEAMS
I am sure if we had to pay in Bidwill dollars, we would be able to tailgate in a more NFL experience way!

I know for me I would pay an extra couple bucks per game for the Fan Club Tailgate to have outside company do some setup and take down of tents and stuff needed for the tailgate. Would that be an option?
Or here is another thougth. Would the Cardinals allow outside companies to foot the bill for the tailgate cost for the Fan Club and then they can market their product at the tent?

I wrote to the Cardinal last week. They forwarded my response to SAFE, who contacted me by phone. My personal issues were addressed and somewhat resolved. I post here as a discussion, not expecting anything to be resolved, just sharing my thoughts. The "No Tailgating after Kickoff" rule has no effect on me whatsoever. I have tickets. I just happen to think its a useless rule, designed to save security costs when in fact, security is probaby improved with more people in the lots than if its just left to a few weekend temps patrolling on golf carts.

Let's just hope that these kinks can get resolved! However, let's not forget the 99.9% of things that are really working well. My only plea to the fans is to keep things in perspective!!!

Good thinking. No ads are alowed at the Big Red Army tailgate. That was put forward very early on. But I like that you are thinking of solutions to the problem.
