Carddan Needs Your Help in Sec 135

Last year I passed out something like 25 dozen red bandanas, I called them "nest protectors" or "Cardanas". Some went to fans while tailgating and some I passed out in Sec 135. I was disappointed by how few I saw weeks later in my Section. This year in pre-season I have already seen more than I expected. These hardcore fans have inspired me to keep up the fight. I just ordered 50 dozen to be here for week 1. (that's 600 for you former Cowboy fans) I was able to upgrade the quality and get a better price by going to "triangles" that are 22" x 22" x 31".

I do not mean to compete with the white towels the team has given us, those are awesome and look great. I do like the "red" however and believe bandanas are an original "Arizona" thing.

What I need are "mules" in Sec 135. The Cardanas come in neat compact packages of a dozen. I have had no problem carrying in 5 or more dozen at a time and will have three people each doing that on Sept 13th. If anyone else could volunteer to carry in and pass out 5 dozen to our Section it would be very helpful. We have a lot (more than I would like, at least) of transients and visitors in our section. I ask that you only give them to Season Ticket Holders and remind them to bring them back everytime they come to a game. Kids are exempt from this requirement, they are the future.

My hope is to see 400 of these being waved in Sec 135 for opening kickoff. It will show up! Let me know your intentions here, and then stop by East Preferred (under the #50 parking lot sign) anytime prior to 1 hour from kickoff and I will give them to you.

Anyone else, not in Sec 135, is free to stop by also and get one for everyone in their group. Call me "Carddan" and I'll know where you came from!

Good job, and good luck. Last year during the playoffs, a guy in our section #218 handed out yellow cray paper. When ever the opposing team was flagged our section would pull them out and waive them and yell "Cheaters". I think it's great to have something going on in your section.

Dave, my goal is to saturate my Section. (I do this out of pocket) On the other hand, I did say if you stop by I will give you one for "everyone" in your group. I know you, so if you say your group has 24 people, I am giving you two dozen. We cool?

As far as passing out mass quantities to other Sections, I suppose I could sell them as long as I don't make a profit. The cost to me, buying in bulk, ends up being $4 a dozen, so for $20 I could give you 5 dozen. (Shipping for 50 dozen costs me $22) That's 60 Red Cardana Nest Protectors for your Section or friends! I would then turn around and buy more for my Section. Again, I refuse to make a profit out of this but do want to create as much interest as possible. Otherwise, I'll just give away all that I have to my Section, friends, and stoppers by while tailgating. Except, its not about the $$$. I just hoped for someone like you to step up, help me carry them in, and help pass them out to Season Ticket Holders (plus any kids) in OUR Section. If people want to chip in $$$ I will just turn around and buy more!!!

I had no problem bringing in somewhere between 5-10 dozen each last year, but I'm not sure if security would freak if I tried bringing in more at once. Either way, I will probably still take advantage of your volunteerism to help with the distribution. And forgive me if I don't recognize you at first, but say your screen name and I will know who I'm dealing with.

It is SO right.
I'm in East Preferred, Gray Lot until about 1 hour before kickoff. The parking lot has numbered signs and I should be under the #50. There is also the potential to receive free brats and beer but I am not pushing anything except the Cardana Nest Protectors. It is very easy for someone to carry in about five dozen each, so if you have a couple people with you, we have this made! I may even go on-line and buy a bunch more because a few people seem to want to contribute and I don't want to run out. Last year I gave them all away and didn't even have one for myself by game 3.

Sure, but I'm not really into discrimination. If someone says Sec135, then there is no doubt they are my neighbor. Now, when did you see that Jersey? I've only worn it three times. You were there last week, weren't you? If so, you saw me without my gameface and could ID my secret identity. You either must be trusted or destroyed! I have your identity narrowed down to three or four people...don't mess with Carddan or you will get "The Beak".

I remember during the playoff run I taped my cardinals pennant to the side of the 51 freeway to see if I could start a movement. Have everyone stop and put something on the wall of the freeway Cardinal related but the next day it was gone. Kinda unfortunate. Oh well.

That's cool. I think the stadium should invest in Red Towels and White Towels. For the Sunday Night game against Indy let the stadium be seen with Red and White towels rolling around.

My first shipment of 50 dozen triangular 22"x22"x31" red Cardana Nest Protectors arrived just two days after placing the order. (So fast I wasn't here and my wife had to ask "what is that?")

So far, ABQCardsfan, RandawgVO, and cactusbojo have all agreed to be "carriers and distributors" for Sec 135. In addition, DaveTheBasePlayer wants to buy $20 worth=5 dozen for his section.

I need to know two more things before I make my next move.

#1. It is very easy to carry in about 6 dozen per person. I have three people with me, so that is 18 dozen out of the 50 total. I need to know how many "carriers" ABQ, Randawg and cactusbojo each have.

#2. If anyone else wants to buy their own for their section the cost to me is $20 per 5 dozen. DaveTheBassPlayer has already requested to do this. I will order another 50 dozen in time for Game 1 if anyone else is interested.

If you just want a few for the people in your group, they are free, courtesy of Carddan. You just have to find me.

(remember, while passing them out, I try to give them to kids and Season Ticket Holders first, with instructions to bring them back every week. I also remind people to wave them during kickoff, after we score, and on the opponent's third downs)

I will be helping to pass out 1,200 red bandanas on Sunday. They will be concentrated in Sec135, Sec132 and the South end-zone. When waving, they will create a red sea to help protect the nest. The Cardinals organization through Darren Urban has been notified. Ron Wolfley said he “will be all over it”. I have had three volunteers in Sec135 to help with the distribution, one in Sec132, and a couple in the South end-zone.

There are four ways you can become involved in this movement.

1. Find me in East Preferred, under the #50 parking sign, at least one hour prior to kickoff. I am easy to recognize with my game face. They are free for any members of your group. Just call me “Carddan” and I’ll hook you up.

2. Volunteer to be a distributor in Sec132, Sec135 or the South end-zone. Notify me of your intentions and find me in East Preferred. I will give you 5 dozen each to pass out in these Sections, again, for free.

3. Be a leader in your Section. I prefer to start in the Lower Bowl for maximum impact but will not discriminate. My cost is $20 per 5 dozen. I will pass that cost on to anyone who wants to lead their Section by purchasing 5-10 dozen. Again, let me know ahead of time so I can keep a Cardinal eye out for you. Just find me prior to the game. Passing them out in “clumps” of 60 or more helps them show up.

4. Bring your own red bandana to the game, there might even be one laying around the house.

When distributing the Nest Protectors, I prefer to give them to Season Ticket Holders first with a reminder to bring them back every game. I certainly make exceptions for kids because they seem to really enjoy it. Also, please remind the fans to wave them during kickoffs, opponent’s third downs and when we score. The more often, the better. For those of you at home, keep an eye out during the game for the Sections where the red sea is rising up!

This isn’t about me. It’s about the team, and the great fans that we have. This idea was not inspired by “a fan”, but by “the fans”. We Do This Together.

Good job brotha. If I can get a ticket to the game I'd love to be a volunteer to pass them out. I'll let you know if I can go. I usually sit with my buddy Dad's but my buddy plays for ASU football this year so he's not sure how many games he can go to so hopefully I'll be able to go to some. I sit in section 123 I think row 35 on the aisle.
