NFL Head Coach from EA has the new Cardinals stadium in it. No 50 yd line logo and generic end zone name but its there.
Now they need to update the rosters - No Edge on the Cards or Leinhart
Game is cool and has free fantasy football

Nor will there be a Leinhart. Now if they don't have Leinart, that needs to be fixed, but I'm sure they will get to it. I wonder if the Titans have Young or the Saints have Bush.

The game starts at the conclusion of the Super Bowl. So you actually go and draft Bush/Leinart/etc. They are in the game, you just have to draft them first. I like the idea. I'm hoping this game catches on. I'd love to see EA expand on it.

360 version?
360 rocks!! I play it with my son, and yes, I'm old!:toothorn:
Madden is a lot of fun, can't wait for '07 in August. Do you think this othere game came out too early to put those players on their teams? If you can draft them, that's cool....

i think you can change rosters
but things happen that you can't control like Seattle re-signs Hutch which didn't happen in real life
is it hard to play or is it fun?

I'm not buying into it for THIS year. For starters, I like the idea of starting with your team after the Super Bowl but I also feel there should be a mode that just puts you at the start of training camp to make everything as realistic as possible. Secondly, you start out as a highly touted assistant of the Steelers and you have to interview to get a gig at a club. Third, for all you Madden freaks, you don't control any on the field action at all. You call the plays and motivate. Thats all. Well you hold practices too. From some of the draft that this baby spit out on IGN and the early grumblings of some weak AI, I will wait for the next go around to work out the bugs. Oh, and no 360, though you can just plug in the XBOX version.

On my olld madden games and espn games, i would always spend more time "behind the scenes" than playing anyways. I havent touched my PS2 in months, but i may just have to go out and get this one.

Here is an actual example of a top 10 picks that happend for an IGN editor who was playing as the Rams. This is just sickening and a big reason why I won't be buying this game.
"Here is how the top 10 finished out…
1. Texans: AJ Hawk
2. Saints: Matt Leinart
3. Titans: Mario Williams
4. Jets: Vernon Davis
5. Packers: Chris Gocong
6. 49ers: Brodrick Bunkley
7. Raiders: Reggie Bush
8. Bills: Jason Allen
9. Lions: Chad Greenway
10. Cardinals: Bobby Carpenter"
Chris Gocong? The very same Chris Gocong that went round 3 in real life. Reggie Bush falling to number 7?!? Jason Allen at 8? Notice how unrealistic this game is? I'm sticking with Madden.

I like the behind the scenes items in Madden, but when thats all said and done, I want to play. I bought coach last night, and ended in boredom about 3 hrs later. Trading was too easy also. I was able to trade with the Saints and Texans to get the first two picks. I gave up Ross and Griffith and a couple picks. Took Bush and Leinart. This game is not recommended.

Nope, I redid the Tripplets on my team(Oakland Raiders).
I drafted Reggie Bush, Vince Young, Chad Jackson and traded Charles Woodson and a 4th Round Draft Pick for Andre Johnson.
My question to all of you is... Since when does Reggie Bush drop to the 7th pick, Vince Young to the 21st Pick, and Chad Jackson all the way in the second round at the 7th pick. :eyes:
P.S In my game the number one pick was A.J Hawk/LB/Ohio State

yea EA bought the nfl liscense so they are the only company to produce nfl games but other companies can make football games (ex. blitz the league, made up teams)
it is a little boring. i have to agree i would like to play the game more than i would sitting thier trying to sign players or put in plays all day long. it took me a little while to figure out how to use the phone. once i figured everything out it was alright.
what deal did your purpose to get leinart and bush again.
i also don't like that they winston justice and lutui as left tackles. at least get them in the right position.

he is on the team if you go to the coach now mode. i started to coach againist the seahawks and the hawks just kick my butt. it is really embrassing. i think this is the first time i lost againist the computer in my entire football video gameplaying years. how depressing

The game is fun...if you have the time and patience. I was able to trade (now don't kill me guys) Berry,Okeafor,Big Davis,BJ and Macklin for draft picks and cap room (which I found out later that it is HUGE). With those picks I drafted Bush (3rd), Young (10), Mangold and Mercedes Lewis in the second, Ernie Sims in the 3rd,Claude Wroten inthe 4th and Maurice Stovall in the 5th. All of those are starting except Stovall who is my 3rd WR but guess who is leading my team in REC, REC YARDS and TD's? I was also able to sign Darren Howard, Anthony Simmons, Lenny Walls (who leads the league in INTS), Deion Branch (who I traded later for John Henderson) and the best part I signed Chris Terry, Frank Middleton,Dan Neil and Kyle Turley (who i included in the Henderson trade) to solidify my OL. All in all my team is 2-0 with an impressive 52-19 victory over the Seahags. I'm getting quite bored of it due to stupid load screens
QB- Vince Young-Kurt Warner
RB- Reggie Bush-Marcel Shipp
WR- Anquan, Fitz and Stovall
TE-Mercedes Lewis
LT- Oliver Ross-Elton Brown
LG- Nick Mangold-Reggie Wells
C- Chris Terry- Alex Stepanovich
RG- Dan Neil- Nick Leckey
RT- Frank Middleton- Elton Brown
LE- Darnell Dockett (yeah I moved him)
DT-John Henderson and Claude Wroten
DE- Darren Howard-Calvin Pace
ROLB- Ernie Sims- Blackstock
MLB- Anthony Simmons- James Darling
LOLB- Karlos Dansby- Gerald Hayes
CB- Antrel Rolle and Lenny Walls
FS- Robert Griffith
SS-Adrian Wilson
Now excuse me whle I go outside for the first time in days lol

Well, after getting quite bored with all the load screens and boring offseason I decided to sim the 2006 and 2007 seasons. With Vince young and Reggie Bush the cards went on to win the super bowl with a 15-1 record. Bush not only won the ROY with 1500 yards rushing w/28 TD's and 60 catches but also the MVP. Young passed for 3000 yards, 22 TDS and 20 INTS while rushing for 1000 yards.
2007 my record wasnt that bad...14-2 winning the super bowl again, Bush rushed for 2000 yards and 75 RECS with 32 TD's and Young again threw for 3000 yards while rushing for another 1000 yards.
the game is so unreal that the salary cap is always abundant and i resign Karlos Dansby for 7 years/ $8million total...not a year, TOTAL, this was after 2 probowl seasons. Same with Dockett!! There hasnt been a decent FA available because of the huge salary cap. the game is boring and too easy.

UPDATE:
3 straight super bowls, three straight 14 win seasons. Teams have released the following players: AJ Hawk, Matt Leinart, Chad Greenway, Mike Huff, Donte Whitner, Lendale White and mario Williams. Guess who signed them? The game has no difficulty level. All my starters and half my backups are at elite levels (ratings of 90+) yet I still have $20 million in cap room. Two of my 7th round picks are elite players and have I mentioned the load screens will drive you insane??booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooring...yet I continue to play it, though I just simulate the whole **** season.

Ahmen to that... this is a prime example why game makers shouldnt be under the influence of drugs when they get their ideas...
i just won back to back superbowl with reggie Mcneal as my qb. that is cool because i had mcneal rated higher than vince young in this year draft. i had brad smith rated higher also. i don't know how some of you can get several first round picks when i couldn't. maybe it was just because i wasn't willing to give up a lot of people.

I have some 4323 million hours played with NFL Head Coach, it's a game with more bugs than I've ever seen in a game but you can get around most of them just by taking your time in practice (don't back out of the Motivation windows too quickly ....no matter if you're on PS2, Xbox, or PC). The second thing to do is tedious but almost necessary, you need to make sure all 32 teams have the 55 players allowed before the season begins or they will not be able to play and the scores will be 0-0 for the AI.
The PC version is best. Why? Because you can download the sliders to change how many interceptions you throw (hint). I once threw 11 interceptions in one game with 3 diff quarterbacks and intercepted the opposing qb 9 times... in one game. Ridiculous. With the sliders, you can make the game realistic. There is no option for the PS2 or Xbox. The sliders allow you to change the length of the quarters among other things.
The draft is the coolest thing about the game, hearing Mel Kiper talk about the top 10 fictional college players each year. Madden can't touch the off season thats in NFL Head Coach.

The most unrealistic draft, IMHO, is what really happened. It only makes sense for Leinart to go to the Packers, Favre is going to last how long? Their rookie is half of a Leinart.
I always trade up as the Cards with the Saints to get Leinart at 1 or 2. Ernie Sims is always available in the second round so that's who I get next.
Underrated players:
Kirtman, FB... in 1 year he is Cory Schlesinger's daddy. 97-99 rating in a year or two.
McCoy the MLB... monster
Craig DE, another monster
Ernie Sims is a sack master by year 3, best OLB in the game. I'm biased maybe. Or maybe its because he's so **** fast.

On defense I lead the league every year with the Cards by doing the following: I get Shaun Rogers from Detroit and pair him with Darnell Dockett in a 4-3 Cover 2 and throw in my own designed Tampa 2 (basically hit the playbook editor and drop back the MLB's coverage).
The opponent's run game is over. Then I either grab a FS or two from FA. I can't remember his name but an alternative for the Cards is to throw in the young guy who is rated at 63 or something lame. He's never been beat deep since I started playing him each time I start the game over. That's with the Cover 2 / Tampa 2 system anyway. His CVG rating isn't all that good but he just flat out performs.
One thing that's really cool about the game, I think, is that sometimes you'll see a player with a low 60s rating... you give them a shot and sometimes they'll be unbelievable.
How do I get one of the top 5 draft picks? Sadly, I trade Edge away. He just doesnt do well under my coaching. I tried 10 seasons but couldn't make it work. Sometimes I'll take Shaun Rogers and trade first round picks. Arrington is a monster by midseason the first year of the game. JJ and Marcell are just fine to take you into the playoffs.
Cards weakness in the NFL Head Coach game:
Run defense up the middle unless you go 3-4 and aggressive. Or...you get a buddy to pair up with Dockett and go 4-3...then you can play zone or man, whatever you want to do.
The pass d is great for the Cards so long as you upgrade your safeties. Otherwise you will get beat deep, often. I add depth to both FS and SS because, its someone at either side almost always gets injured for at least a month or two.
Leinart doesnt like to be yelled at in the game :D You can yell at him in practice and he loves it. In the game, don't say a **** word to him as far as motivation goes and he'll be fine. Phenomenal by year 3. 99 rating. Eats Peyton for breakfast.
Of course, there are some games when you can yell at Leinart and his ratings go above 100.... but most of the time you'll bottom him out if you get upset at him. The Broncos and Bears like to be aggressive. That's when I tell matt to go DEEP on half the plays via PlayAction. Broncos and Bears are the easiest to beat in the game. Ironic, perhaps.
