Default The Kolb and Skelton are both garbage thread.

Call me negative. Call me a Niner fan. You can hate me for my opinion, I'm not a sugarcoater and I call it like it is. Both of these guys are trash. Garbage. I'm not going to sugarcoat it. I'm hoping that Kolb becomes at least a decent QB. He is better than Skelly right now. Skelton has a chance to be a solid QB, better than Kolb but not right now. Kolb is just not the right fit in this offense. He is a WEST COAST system QB. This frequently seems to be an issue with the Arizona Cardinals. Trying to always make a player fit the system. Now, this doesn't mean that we can't win, I believe in this defense that much. I believe our run game will be solid. I just don't feel good about what I am hearing so far from camp. Kolb throwing picks, Kolb getting hurt(already) and Skelton overthrowing WR's. C'MON MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will somebody please report some good news from camp about the QB's????? I'm going crazy here fellas!!!!

Have you seen them play yet this year? You know it is nice we have people here that are willing to post reports what they see at practise, but until I atleast see a preseason game or two I am going to hold off on saying who sucks.

Just a bit premature since we haven't seen even 1 preseason game isn't it? I'll wait until we have the regular season going before I go saying anyone is garbage.

TruCard, you need to settle down my friend, I appreciate your passion but were only going into the second week of training camp. Also, remember incompletions and Interceptions is not always the QB fault - Miss routs, timing issues. The best thing that we can do as FANS right now regardless who's the QB, is to let the know we have their Back!! And that doesn't mean we throw Kolb to the curb if he throws a interception in preseason.

Said he was a WCO QB before we got him, I stand by that. He will never be anything but.
I don't want to include these stats, they make me look worse than I really am.

Here's the thing that gets me about these posts, and I don't care if you're in the Skelton camp or Kolb camp or the neither camp like the OP, how can you guys be so dam sure about either one?

Frankly, I like them both. Not Warner-like, but each brought skills, tangible and intangible when they came to the team.

When Skelton was drafted many thought he had proto-typical size, smarts and strong ability but played for a small school and was going to need a few years to develop NFL caliber ability. Well it's been a few years, the team has stuck with him, he's shown some promise in games he's played, but certainly he's not yet developed into a top 10 QB. Can he? None of us really know but for those of you that are so absolutely certain that he isn't going to amount to anything must have some crystal ball that professional coaches are lacking. If he gets the nod for the season, I'll be cheering him and the team on and hope that he continues to develop into the QB that some thought he'd be when drafted.

Kolb showed signs when he was in Philly. He is smart and had success in a few of the games he played in while there. Fitz saw enough in him that he pressed the FO to bring him in. There were other teams interested in him when we got him. He came in last year, tried to learn a new system and a new O-line and didn't look very good. My biggest concern isn't in his ability, it's the fact that he looked spooked playing behind our line after the 1st game last year. Is that something he can correct? I don't know since the weak links in our line didn't really get correct. But again, if he's the starter, I'm going to be behind him and hoping he can take the next step. There are certainly indications he can.

Yea, I wish we had a sure thing like Eli, or Rogers or Brees or Warner but we don't and we aren't going to this season. And I can't say that one of our guys isn't going to turn the corner. I've seen too many instances of QBs take the next step to totally discount that one of these 2 can't and I'm not sure how anyone posting on this board thinks they can. And speaking of Warner, I seem to recall a whole bunch of people complaining that he was a washed-up fumbling machine when he came here. I seem to recall he did pretty well for the Cards though.

This thread should be stickied so that we can keep the Kolb/Skelton bashing in one place.

I wish people could root for one without having to feel the need to bash the other. There is nothing wrong with rooting for a specific player but we should try and keep it positive. I am sure I have been guilty too.
