Depth is what wins consistently in the NFL (as long as you have a QB.)
No confusion here. Every team listed is deeper than we are and wins more than we do. Again, you and I just have very different ideas about what constitutes a loaded roster.

The great teams deal with it every year, and find a way to overcome it.
That's the rub. Our team peaked 2 years ago and wasn't great. Management tried to load it up in 15 and 16 and we were very good in 15 and mediocre in 16. We are starting to crack all over the roster. Last years draft class and this years has to step up bigly.

Every roster in the NFL has holes, I don't think we have anymore holes this upcoming year than we did the prior 2. Our main thing last year was ST's

And what is the point to drafting well if we just let them walk if they end up being great? They are letting the future walk to keep the old farts? This is a huge mistake that will hurt us for 5+ years. Plus Swearinger was not only our future but also a "win now" guy! This doesn't make sense unless this team is sick and sinking and players just won't sign.

If ya wanna get really technical..we didn't draft DJ \_(ツ)_/

I'm guessing we draft a safety though and Beth is in the mentor role until it's eventually the guy we drafts spot

I would say bringing in solid locker room guys and reknown leaders on Day One speaks LOUDLY when it comes to cluing everyone in on what he felt was one of the issues in 2016- accountability, players policing players, and DOING YOUR JOB.

IMO, these first signings are a message.

We do not have a loaded roster anymore, and that roster is currently being picked apart by FA. Are any of the replacements going to be better than what we had? Is our roster better now than it was a year ago?

    -Campbell
    -Swearinger
-Minter - replaced with a soon to be 36 year old, on the decline
-Jefferson - replaced with a 31 year old on the decline
    - Marcus Cooper
    - Rucker
    - Catanzaro replaced with a 43 year old, on the decline

What I see is an even older roster, who next year when they become FA's we wont get anything for. The issue is, the solution was to kick the can down the road on salaries. Eventually you have to pay the piper and we are now. Look at NE, or Sea. Seattle has all these talented players, and aren't losing anyone in FA, same with KC! Look at the cap space of NE. We gave out a ridiculous contract to Palmer, and even next year we have to Pay Fitz 4.5m who wont even be on the roster.

Name a Seahawk after their top-10 that is better than the Arizona counterpart.

    So you can't use:

    Wilson
    Baldwin
    Graham
    Thomas
    Sherman
    Chancellor
    Wagner
    Wright
    Bennett
    Avril

Again, don't confuse top-heavy with deep.

Calais is the only big loss on that list, let's not start overrating guys because they're gone now. Half this board hated Minter and Cat especially. Despite the age we got better at kicker and MLB today and I don't think anyone is worried about Safety when Ty is back
