Default Come to realize that BA doesn't have patience to groom a young QB

at this point in his career IMHO he doesn't have the patience to teach. We've passed or traded out of spots for decent QBs since he's been here. This organization will draft the QB of the future when he retires, so as fans we need to get used to it. You'll never "luck" up and find one if you never draft one. It's all a crap shoot unless it's a manning or Luck, and they were going to be good regardless of BA coaching them or not.

You do realize that we have a QB coach and other "O" assistants who would actually do the teaching?

Nice, another voice of reason. BA did seem to have the patience with a Virgina Tech alum in Logan Thomas and burned a 4th round pick, but passed on Derek Carr.

True, however, it starts at the top and trickles down, so if the headcheese doesn't want to draft and mentor a QB with anyone on his staff then they won't. But, don't think that BA

wouldn't have a heavy hand in the mentoring of a young QB anyway.

Have to wonder how much time BA has to 'mentor' a rookie QB.

Recall when both Palmer and Stanton went down and BA was considering Logan Thomas to start. It sure looked as if BA was taken by surprised by Thomas' level of knowledge of the playbook . . . or should I say, his lack of knowledge.

It was so bad, we got Lindley off the Chargers practice squad to be our emergency starter --- a QB who had played in seven games without a single TD pass.

Here's Logan Thomas sad career summary (scroll through the blue highlights on left):

I think BA's QB rep is thrown way out of proportion. Look at the QB he has worked with. Manning, Big Ben and Luck. Heck I could be a QB guru with those guys. Other than those guys, just who has BA developed. NO ONE !!

Nice premise but I don't think it holds water.

BA must still think he can do wonders with 1st Round castoffs.

Blaine Gabbert is the next QB to step into the BA system for a tryout.

Just maybe -- these two guys make magic in 2018.

    .
Just another example of questionable decision making in this organization.
