In tonight's game there may be cameo appearances by select projected starters, maybe because the coaches want to see them coming back from injury or having been signed in FA. Our first three draft choices may be in for a series or two and don't forget we only have one PK on the roster (pay attention to his holder).

The fact of keeping a 90-man roster throughout camp means the lower half of the roster will see more playing time then ever before. It will be interesting if this opportunity benefits most teams or going back to multiple cut-down dates will happen. Yes, it may give GM's and HC's a better looksee for their rosters' but the union may not like it because of the loss of jobs happening when younger players take jobs from a team's bottom-half of the roster? If this change is an experiment we'll have to see how it plays out?

The Cardinals are approaching this game as break from camp and a pleasure trip to the HOF in support of KW. They want to evaluate the least experienced players 'under the lights' and maybe learn something of them. The starters will not be put at risk, but with the news coming out of Miami about Tannehill or with Flacco in Baltimore the exhibition games are note the only source of serious player injuries.

In the wayback years before the players union the exhibition season was not four games, not five games, but six games. The team roster was much smaller so the starters played so much more than now that you fans would be shocked at their playing time, i.e. injury risk, compared to today. And do not forget that the reigning champion played the College All-Stars in Chicago's Soldier Field to kick-off the season!

Imagine the Patriots doing that today...

Funny we've made 2 pages before anyone mentions the #1 goal:

    No injuries

I dont care if they are backups, noooooooo injuries of any kind to anybody. Our depth is bad as is. We cant lose anybody.

    Hi 11B,

Welcome to the board. You have 50+ wings?
Hungry much? LOL. Each of those wings represents
how long I have been a Cardinal Fan which is well over
50 years. It never gets old, it never gets boring
and I have been through it all.
After last years dismal preseason, I'm glad to see us
playing one more game even if its not our starters.

Chad Williams has a chance to show us something tonight
Dorian Johnson getting game work too is a plus.
