Just crummy to see Palmer and Fitz go out like this, especially Palmer who has to take the punishment of a horrible Oline week after week.

GM needs to do his job. o line is hurting what little chance Fitz and team getting to playoffs. Make a move try and trade for o line help. Palmer and fitz need to go to gm and take paycut to get help. We need to blow up the coaching staff. Oh heck we lose no chance with this stlye of coaching and players

Do you fans want to be mired in mediocrity ala the Sketon/Kolb/Hall era?

It's time to put ourselves in position to get a very high draft pick and potentially franchise QB.

I realize nothing is guaranteed (see the Colts and Andrew Luck) but most teams that win year after year have a franchise QB.

We need to suck the rest of the year to ensure we can have the best chance of becoming one of those teams.
Let's see how this worked in Cleveland

    1. Tim Couch #1 overall pick in 1999
    2. Brady Quinn 1st Rd Pick #22 overall pick
    2007
    3. Brandon Weeden 1st RD pick #22 overall
    2012
    4. Johnny Manziel 1st RD pick #22 overall

    Since 1999 -2016 88 wins - 189 losses

Now lets go by high Draft picks #1
    1999. Tim Couch
    2000. Chad Pennington
    2001. Michael Vick
    2002. David Carr
    2003. Carson Palmer
2004 Eli Manning Super Bowl Winner
    2005 Alex Smith
    2006. Vince Young
    2007. JaMarcus Russell
    2008. Matt Ryan
    2009. Matt Stafford
    2010. Sam Bradford
    2011. Cam Newton
    2012. Andrew Luck
    2013. EJ Manuel
    2014. Blake Bortles
    2015. Jameis Winston
    2016. Jared Goff
    2017. Mitchell Trubisky

There are great QBs on the list but you would think
based on 17 yrs you would get more than One Super Bowl
    Winner.

I whole heartily agree with this. Say what you will about Palmer, but when you consider he gets hit on almost every pass play, he's playing about as good as anyone could. I give him credit for not throwing in the towel.

When it comes to Fitz, a pro's pro....well he just deserves better.

When I say "shut it down" I mean lets play for next year. Get rid of guys like Valdheer. Put in maximum rookies.

    Give Gabbert a chance.

Hold off on DJ coming back until his wrist is 1000 percent healed.

Nobody purposely tanks at this level. It's just a matter of looking ahead one year.

If you trust Keim, and I do, he will do much better with higher draft picks.

I'm not interested in any argument that 8-8 will somehow build momentum until next year.

OK, I was just replying to
the following part of your thread
"We need to suck the rest of the year to ensure we can have the best chance of becoming one of those teams."

8-8 would not be one of those teams

    2-14, 3-13, 4-12 would be.

Is it ok with you if we beat Seattle at home
and go 3-13? I'd like us to win that game
    unless they go 3-13 too.

When the record is 2-8, AriS, I propose the the weakest starters should sit out the rest of the season and then find another team to support their bad habits. Until then, they play Sunday and get mauled. Starter dummies and quitters cannot be allowed to short-sell their ugly messes to backups each weekend.

A few coaches need to be made to sweat now.
