Default Article: Matt Barkley Comes Back To Cardinals

The Cardinals made it official Monday, re-signing quarterback Matt Barkley to the active roster with current starter Drew Stanton dealing with a knee sprain.

Barkley will be the team’s third quarterback behind Stanton and Blaine Gabbert, and would be available to back up Gabbert in a game in case Stanton’s knee prohibits him from playing. Mike Bercovici remains on the practice squad.

The Cardinals return to the practice field Tuesday, and coach Bruce Arians meets with the media following the workout. The team plays in Houston Sunday.

The Cardinals also officially placed tackle D.J. Humphries (knee), safety Tyvon Branch (knee) and tight end Ifeanyi Momah (ankle) on injured reserve.

In addition to adding Barkley, the team promoted defensive back Harlan Miller from the practice squad. They still have one opening on their 53-man roster.

Cornerback Jarell Carter, who was with the Cardinals part of the preseason, was signed to replace Miller on the practice squad.

Not surprised, we all know how Arians loves QBs with experience in his system.

I'm sure he will see a game or two at the end of the year after the other 2 are Injured or suck it up enough.

And to think, for a while Barkley was the trendy choice to go #1 in the draft.

Heck early on I was wishing he would come here some day!

Yea! BTW, check out "Baby Driver." That's a crazy dude. I don't know if he's a NFL or Cards fan though. Too nerdy.

You guys are being a bit harsh. Name a better 4th stringer in the NFL. (Should I mention I tend to get sarcastic when the thread is about Barkley?)
