Cards -- Another QB Option might be available come February

Another veteran QB could be on the market as an undrafted free agent -

AJ McCarron may be a UFA and available only costing a team a 4th or 5th round compensatory pick in 2019... just saying that if he wins his grievance and becomes a UFA that the Cards would most likely have interest. If the price is not too steep in the $$, this might be an option to then use some of the CP cap $$ to get a veteran either WR or OL.

Something for SK to consider if he becomes a UFA ... and would dictate the hiring of a great OC or a head coach with offensive or QB development expertise.

He sure dodged a bullet on the Browns trade. He is very much an unknown and hasn't been able to beat out Dalton. If the price is right then sure bring him in.

Bengals are a bad organization -- rehiring Lewis doesn't make sense; of course it didn't make sense to get rid of your 2 top OL last year either (Whitworth - Zeitler). Cindy had a good OL in 2014 but has been declining every year since then which mirrors Dalton's QBR - https://www.cincyjungle.com/2017/11/...he-last-decade

The question is whether you want to pay Cousins $23-$24M/APY or McCarron $13M/APY and use the extra money to upgrade the OL and WR corp. He is at least an option to look at if he wins his grievance and it will depend on who the HC and OC become as he isn't right for a BA-type system as his arm strength isn't optimum but he knows how to run a NFL offense with good intangibles and good accuracy.

I will say that I like Brissett as an option if it doesn't cost you much from the Colts -- if Pagano gets hired as the DC, it would be interesting if Brissett does become a target of SK.

Geno Smith is an UFA. If we could get Bill Walsh and Hank Stram on the staff they might be able to turn him into Earl Morral?

the problem is a mediocre QB will bring us another mediocre record and poor draft position.

If no viable QB is available this offseason , which is entirely a possibility, then I say bite the bullet and use BG for the season. Then we would be right there drafting top 3.

Sounds good and all but Gabbart isnt even better than Stanton... Just typing this post made me more depressed about the 2018 season lol.

You never know man. Everyone thought we were in rebuild mode when BA took over. We were only a few pieces away from a solid team. Things dwindled the past couple years (lots and lots of injuries), but some was still exciting to watch. Who knows, maybe it'll be a quick turnaround.

Oh, and I'd pass on AJ too.
