    Default Fully Rebuilding Mode or????

Earlier, there were reports saying that fitz mind could be made up to play this year

Kurt said Fitz want a veteran qb leading the team
We are gonna have to have 3 because none are on the roster as of today. We can go 2 vets and 1 rookie

Now the question is this. We know Fitz is done after the upcoming season. He is going to free up a lot anyway.

Do we restructure a few contracts and cut some players to have atleast 60 mill to play with in fa. I read that we stand at 31.3 mill

We still have the draft in which we have a 1st, 2nd and 2 3rds in the first 3 rounds

I dont think we will fully rebuild
We will get young where we need to but it wont be everywhere. Its gonna be a busy offseason but we arent dead y'all

Only the offense needs rebuilding. Defense is stacked and played terrifically.

Its not as dire as it seems:

    - QB
    - WR (possibly 2)
    - TE
    - LG
    - RG

Look, I can fix us easy:

    - 1st round draft QB Baker Mayfield
    - Free agency Allen Robinson WR, 4th round draft ??? WR
    - 6th round draft TE (Blocking specialist. Seals-Jones will be receiving TE)
    - Free agency LG Andrew Norwell
    - 2nd round draft RG Will Hernandez

    Pow! rebuilt.

I think it's gonna be a pretty big rebuild. Offense essentially needs to be rebuilt from scratch aside from David and the D was good but still as it's holes

But a rebuild where we can't make a run. I doubt it

That's usually how full rebuilds work to start man lol. We literally don't have a QB on the roster right now.

A very few exceptions exist. The Cowpokes in 2016 did it with rookie sensation Prescott.

I don't think we're in a "full rebuild" but I do think 2018-2019 will be rough.

Our defense is young enough in key spots that if we can get a rookie QB that will amount to something, he could start the last half of next year, and we can go into 2019 with playoff hopes.

if we don't get a QB in this draft then yes, it's a full rebuild because by the time we do get one, our defense will be declining.
I was gonna post a pic, but honey badger don't give a dang.

I think that it is full rebuild mode for SK in 2018. When the HC and starting QB retire, that's about as close as a GM can get to major change management mode. I don't think we'll be as bad off in early 2018 as we were in early 2014 though. Unless the next starting QB is already on the Cards roster.

I agree that the defense is likely to decline going forward. Age is not stoppable even with the Affordable Care Act in place.

Not even close to a full rebuild.

And while I get on Zaz a lot for his tendency to overstate, he's right about a couple of things here.

Mayfield could easily be there at 15 (or Keim could make a small trade-up if he's worried about losing him-- but I still think he's on the board after 10.)

FA WR are going to be available. If Keim goes QB round 1, there is PLENTY of money to get a good one. Zaz threw out Robinson (a good choice.) I threw out Landry. Either would suffice.

Norwell is a GREAT guy to target Day 1 (like how Keim went out early and paid for Veldheer and Iupati.) Norwell possesses that rare double-edge of a nasty streak but also a stud in Pass Pro (mostly nasty big uglies are road graders who sometimes struggle in pass protection if they can't get their mitts on their guy right away- not Norwell.)

Zaz recommends a blocking TE late. Which is fine. But I still say resigning Niklas at a cheap rate is also a good move. Dude really emerged as a blocker this year, but dang Troy you HAVE to catch that game-winning TD at Washington.

Peterson, Mathieu, Golden, Jones, Bucannon, Reddick, Baker (the core) are all 28 or younger.
