Back on topic did TN figure out Alex Smith, like the Giants did and like Jim Harbaugh did or is he really a guy you want to give up picks and 20 million per to compete with Goef, RW and JG for the next 3 plus years? If were going to trade for him should we bring Andy Reid with him?

If were going to move up in the draft to take a QB we still need a veteran QB. Kap is the best proven player and cheapest available. Why would you not kick the tires on him, work him out and see if he is in shape and actually will be a distraction to the new HC and staff unless you couldn't?

Currently we have the worst QB situation in the NFL. None under contract and mediocre draft position. Limited cap space. No OL and a terrible WR group. We need to use are assets creatively and wisely.
This isn't about colluding . Fact is he made a choice and sometimes choices have consequences. Michael Vick made a choice and most teams were not interested in him but some felt his talent was worth the distraction. Yeah they figured smith out just have his receivers drop the balls.

Of course he made a choice and he is being blackballed based on his choice. My point is even though he was wrong, all I care about is his football. If I really cared I would have never watched the Cardinals again after they traded for AP or the Jets when they signed Michael Vick. I did and will. I'm all about the football. I'm also very much against monopolies that are protected by the government blackballing employees. It's not like he killed dogs or beat a child. It's interesting that you brought up Vick. It should really give everyone some perspective.

This is my last response off topic in this thread.

What is your proof they are blackballing the guy ? Look the guy is average at best in my opinion if I thought he was a good player I could look the other way on him being a distraction especially when we have no Qb but I just don't see a decent nfl Qb in the guy. maybe many GM's coaches and owners view him the same way I do.

He's not being blackballed. that's silly.

but a mulitbillion dollar industry will carefully look at every employee that they bring into the company. do they want bad public relations? Will it be divisive? Each team probably has an idea of what they want as their image.
and the guy plain and simply has not been that good. Is it worth the notoriety?

    probably not.

3 consecutive NFC Championship games is pretty good.

Better than Warner ever did in AZ, and he's in the ROH

I guess I should have added the past couple of seasons he has not been good and has undergone multiple surgeries.

Four weekend games are history. Brees, Ryan, Rottenburger, Mariota lost games. Only Brees is a FA now.

    Thread is reopened.
