    Default Nick Foles

In the interviews with DJ and Pat P, they have both mentioned Nick Foles as potential QBs. Does anyone think this could be an option for us? As hes under contract until end of next season, we would have to negotiate a trade for him. The price will probably heavily depend on how he performs this Sunday though.

So, what you think? Could he be the guy?

Well, he sure as heck won't want to return to a backup role if he wins the SB.

    P.S - I think he will.

I think we will because this organization is prone to awful decisions.

Talk about never learning. Its like the Cards have battered wife syndrome. "Hes good, really! He just plays bad sometimes but its not his fault!"

    UGH!!!!!

Cardinals would have to TRADE for him...and anyone who's been around here knows how well the Cardinals trades with Philly go....

    it goes like this

Cardinals give up Pro Bowl CB DRC and a 2nd round pick AND a huge contract

    Philly gave up Kevin Kolb

....yea DRC played at a high level...and IS STILL PLAYING at a high level TODAY!!!

lesson: don't trade for a backup QB....especially with Philly

You'd have to give up a bunch to get him AND you'd have to give up $$$. No thanks. Go to the draft....there are great ab's there.

So now, 'don't trade with Andy Reid' has morphed into 'don't trade with Philly.'

    Too funny!

And the reason they threw DRC in that first trade was because he (reported at the time) didn't fit the Horton defence.

Blah. He's played well over a short sample with excellent talent around him and great coaching.

Long term he'll get exposed if any GM is foolish enough to trade for him. I still see the same issues present as always

-Doesn't move through his progressions well, has always tended to lock on to his first read. The Philly coaching staff has done a tremendous job in setting up a lot of easy one read throws for him but that isn't sustainable.

-Long slow delivery that allows defenders an opportunity to jump a route.

-Lacks great pocket presence. He's had outstanding pass blocking from one of the top 3 offensive lines in football. He holds on to the football too long and doesn't often feel the rush coming.

If you trade for him expecting him to be your QBOTF you will be mightily disappointed.

I would take him over Smith and would give up more to get him.

Why would Philly trade Im when they wont have Wentz back at beginning of season. Everyone just assumes people will dump their back ups.

I assume that a guy, if he wins the SB, would be disgruntled at the thought of once again being a backup at backup money in the not too distant

This is the one point when Philly could get a bit of a premium for him.

LOL, I knew this thread was coming. Foles failed as a long term starter/franchise QB. Sure he had a decent playoff run (thank you defense for beating Atlanta) but his play was average at best. If Foles is an option here then there is some serious desperation going on in the Valley of the Sun.
