Default Article: Seahawks stole Cardinals' 6th-round target

The Arizona Cardinals selected Penn State cornerback Chris Campbell in the sixth round of the NFL draft on Saturday. However, he wasn’t their first target. They originally planned on selecting Oklahoma State safety Tre Flowers.

Flowers was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round, the 146th overall pick, so the Cardinals never had the chance.

According to Adam Zuvanich of the San Antonio Express-News, the first phone call Flowers got was from the Cardinals. They told him they would draft him in the sixth round. Arizona did not have a fifth-round pick because they dealt it to the Oakland Raiders to move up in the first round to select quarterback Josh Rosen.

Flowers has length and speed. The Seahawks plan on moving him to cornerback.

?? Campbell graded out slightly better than Flowers, per NFL.com. Flowers may have an inch more height and a few more pounds on Campbell.

The Cardinals were very happy with their selection of Campbell, who ended up being their sixth-round pick, but it will be worth paying attention to Flowers and his development. Did the Cardinals end up stealing a player who could have been an impact player, or will this play out like other times when the player the Cardinals end up with is better than the one they wanted originally?
And here is the premise and basis for the article in the 1st place.

And the video interview with Flowers he never mentions getting a call from the Cards 1st.

So what youre telling me is the Cards planned to draft ZERO CB's....they were forced to draft one because Seattle stole the safety we didnt need.

    Good job Keim.

Has there ever been something the Cardinals have done that you didn't complain about?

Nope. The Cardinals got a franchise QB, good WR, and a center in the first 3 rounds... aka, our 3 biggest needs. He's still unhappy though ****.

Yes, he did a good job addressing our CB situation:
