Default Hood comments on Smith

Rod Hood's quote on Steve Smith...."You look at and say look, he's a guy who makes plays, but yeah you can definitely stop him. I feel like anyone I go up against I can stop. As a defense we feel we can stop him...If you don't feel like you can stop him, then I don't know why you playing this game. So we definitely feel like we can stop em' and be successful defensively"

Taken at face value, it isn't that big of a deal and that will be the Cards fans take. Hood obviously wasn't impressed w/ what Steve has done in the past and feels they will shut him down..........but keep in mind Steve Smith might have the worst case of short man's disease the league has ever known....and makes a habit of turning the slightest thing into a huge personal insult.

Maybe someone should of told Hood Smith was the only WR to avg over 100 yards a game and no extra motivation was needed.

Irrelevent!

If Smith needs something like this to motivate in a "lose-and-you-go-home" game then he has issues.

(I don't think either player is going to have any problem getting up for this one. May the better team, on the day - win.)

Smith is one of the leagues best no doubt. Fitz/Boldin/Smith all are great players to watch except when we play the Panthers then I hate watching Smith torch us. Hopefully some of that rain will dim his torch.

Yep. Stephanie has issues.

This Hood quote is a little different than what Buckner said on WFNS yesterday...said Hood admitted after the first game Steph was killing him 1 on 1.

As I've posted ad naseum, we have to make sure that part of the Carolina offense doesn't beat us again. I'll take my chances vs. the running game.

In my opinion, Hood is saying that he has to say that he can stop him. I think Hood is basically saying Smith is too good for him without actually saying it. Gotta let DRC have a go at Smith since Cards fans and Rod Hood know Hood can't stop Smith.

Hood's unwillingness to tackle played a big part in the last loss to the Panthers. He better pull his head out of his *** this time.

The defense played up to it's ability last week, and they have alot of talent. Hopefully they don't lose their motivation, because this shoulder-tackle-only mentality has got to go.

Not only that, but if you re-watch the play, there's a pathetic jogging effort by Dansby, Green and Rolle as well, after Smith catches the ball. A little hustle would've kept that play a 12-yard gain.

We stop superman smith,WE WIN.Period.We did'nt last time and we have different people playing him this time we have confidence in.The others are on the inactive list to prove what we think of them.

So lets see what happens. The Panther fans have no idea because they have'nt seen these players play against smith before.I know one of them is quite taller and has a vertical leap that makes smiths look pitifull and runs a 4.2 forty to keep smith in front of him.He also had 9 tackles and 1 assist with an interception last week.

GAME TIME BABY!!!!! GAME TIME WILL TELL!!!!
