Okay, I know rumors flying everywhere. Just heard this from a Friend of mine and he does have a Software firm In Cherry Hill New Jersey that does business with the Jet's main offices in Floraham Park, New Jersey. Anyway... My bro said the Jet's are TEARING UP THE PHONES TRYING TO GET JAY CUTLER TO NEW YORK IN THE BRONCO MELTDOWN FUED. One scenerio he said they are Persuing ( This is a rumor but just had to get it out there just in case it comes off)
He said the Jet's want Cutler soooo bad they are salivating. BUT the Broncos must Get a Good young QB in return and have NO interest in ANY QB's on the Jet's current roster. So word is they have to include a third team in the deal to get Cutler and he said one scenario involved the Cards and would go like this. Keep in mind Jet's fans are FOOTBALL FREAKS! Bronco's send Cutler to Jets for Jets 1st round pick Cardinals send Matt Leinart to the Broncos. Cards receive explosive young tailback and kickoff return specialist Leon Washington and the Bronco's 2nd round pick. So the cards would end up with one of the most elusive speed backs in the NFL to pair with Hightower and the Broncos number 2 pick in the draft. Josh McDaniels rift with Cutler apparently cant and wont be repaired. McDaniels will bring in Cassel , USC, plan B by bringin in Matt Leinart and teaching him his offense from the ground up like he did Matt Cassel. Pairing him with MONSTER pro-bowl receiver Brandon Marshall. Apparently the Bronco's head coach feels he cant work long term with Jay Cutler. Keep in mind most of the stuff i have been told by this source doesn't come off. But he did say the Jet's were going after Brett Favre last season when the packers were still talking to him down in Lousiana trying to keep Farve in retirement. So thats the ONLY reason i give this some credibility. This trade has a lot for every team involved. I would LOVE to see the cards with a Kickoff returner and MEGA -Explosive running back like LEON WASHINGTON to pair with Hightower and pick up an additional 2nd round pick to boot. The more i thought about it , I really thought this one might have a chance as the situation in Denver continues to unravel and the Jet's have already made public they want Cutler. There were 3 other teams he said , however , that the Jets and Bronco's might want to work a deal with for a QB. The Browns and One of their two QB's are considered the front runner in that scenario. BUT Arizona is in the NFC so that might be more palitable to the Jets. We'll see. Just thought i would pass that along. |

One of the first rumors that I would actually look at with a smile. Not only would we be bringing in a 2nd rounder and Leon Washington (as RezCard said, this guy is one of the most explosive players in the NFL. Does punts/kicks and can run like a damn cheetah) but we would also be dropping ML's contract which frees up even more money for us to bring in yet another player with a nice sounding name. Leon has been striving for that starting RB job for the past 2 years now and trust me, this guy deserves it.
Obviously wishful thinking, but you'd be a fool to say no to a deal like this. The only thing that would bother me with this deal is that Washington's contract only has this year left on it and after the amount of touches he'd get here we're going to be looking at a high dollar contract next season. I will be angry if the Cards take that deal. We can get a speed back on our own with a draft pick, without giving up Leinart.
I don't think there is anything to this, the Cards have no reason to move Leinart, it's not going to happen.

With the situation at RB, I would take Leon Washington over keeping ML, because we have two years to replace him. Right now, we only have 1 RB on the roster. We can sign a #2 QB, it's not that hard, and there are some good ones out there. Then draft or sign one in FA. Seriously, guys, I've seen Leon Washington play, and he would be the perfect balance for Hightower, quick, catches the ball, is young, and can return kickoffs and punts (which we don't have anyone who can do that). In this case, it's trading for something that WILL HELP US NOW, instead of hoping that ML can turn out to be a good QB in the future. This trade would ultimately be in our best interests.

Oh wait, I forgot about the select few on this board who are crowning Brian St. Frenchie the next Matt Cassel. (I'm not saying you are in that group Hammer) What, If, Kurt, Gets, Hurt? What is wrong with you guys? Leinart isn't complaining about his role, Warner is forsure the starter, there is no controversy? Why do you guys still want to get rid of him?? Man, has everyone gone bananas with this Brian St. Pierre nonsense?

Wow.. this is a tough one for me. I am normally opposed to trading Matt. This however fills 2 team needs and gets us a 2nd round pick in the process.

well if we do the trade we can draft a qb with the 2nd round pick..i think that if there is a qb were comfortable at the jets pick then the trade will go through..but i dont think anything happens til draft day

If we could sign one of the many back ups out on the free angent market after doing this deal I would be happy. I dont want St. French to be our back up with no other option. If this deal did happen I wonder if it would put the Cards in the market for a qb in the 1st round? Maybe the kid from K state? If he were to drop that far anyway. I am not gonna hold my breath but this is what the off season is all about right....RUMORS!

First off id like to say I was completly against the drafting of Matt I thought and still do think he doesnt have what it takes, but with that aside i would not be happy if we traded our former 10th overall pick who really hasnt been given a chance for a 2nd round pick and jj arrington's clone. Also people rip profootballtalk as being unreliable, this has to be the most unreliable source in history!!! no offense, i do beleive you heard this i just think your friend fabricated his own scenerio.
