here you go:
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/1...sound-familiar He predicts EVERY score from EVERY game. Highlight: He predicts the Cards to sweep SF, including what would be a winner-takes-the-West Game 17 showdown at San Fran. Lowlight: He predicts the Cards to lose at home in WC game to Dallas. (Obviously he hasn't been paying attention because Arizona OWNS the Cowturds in Glendale.) Last edited by WVcardsFan : 07-23-2012 at 02:35 PM. |

Predictions are a crap shoot, especially at this time of the season. I like his prediction but don't see us yet pushing the 49ers off of the number 1 position. I like Pat Kirwan and think he is very knowledgeable but he predicts Arizona at third, if either Kobb or Skelton emerges as a solid starter I think we get the number 2 spot and possibly a WC spot. Horton's defense is as good as Seattle's and our offense has more talent as long as the line does OK on pass protection and continues to excel on run blocking.

I do whole heartedly agree with what you have been resounding for weeks....the 9rs wont be so lucky with the TO margin. Lets hope see the Cards find some of that luck this year!

I don't think the 49ers will be able to repeat the performance of last season for the reasons mentioned, they are still a powerful team because they have had so many #1 picks from the draft and trades. Not all of their picks turned out that well but enough of them are solid. They can be had though we did beat them this last season.
My view is also that Harbaugh is not yet established as a top coach. So it remains to be seen in the next 2 - 3 years how good a coach he is. MS had so messed up the team that Harbaugh had only to make some common sense moves and get the breaks on turnovers and injuries that he did. We and others will have more film on his coaching tendencies and that could help too. The 9ers have always been a hard team for us and I would be delighted to regain the division title and sweep the 9ers. We will need some luck on injuries, QB play, and injury recoveries from last year. We are due for some breaks after the last couple of years. |

Pete's prediction makes me feel good but it doesn't mean squat.

I liked Pete's point of view too, although Pete called them projections vs. predictions, I would call them speculations. But I think all of us except 49er kool-aid drinkers don't think they will repeat their 2011 season. However a separate issue is will they win the division? Reluctantly I would have to say the odds are in their favor right now, although I am hoping otherwise.

I don't care how much a "prediction" his projection is. I agree with the OP in that is quite the novelty to have anyone, let alone national media, pick us for first in the division. Heck when our local sports guy picks us for third in the division you would normally figure the rest to pick us last.
I happen to agree with him but I drink a bit of kool aide now and then.
