Seeing these guys start will be the surprise. Whiz just seems dead against starting a rookie. A first round pick...maybe....but these later round guys....not likely. By the way, personaly not too high on Snyder either. And with his paycheck, even less likely Klemete gets the nod over him.

An article I read somewhere, Bridges is happy to help Massie along, teaching anything and everything, and was very confident Massie would not be the starter till maybe next year at the earliest. The funny thing about it, in this same article, Massie was all fired up about trying to win the starting job over Bridges, but neither of them seem know what the other is thinking! Hilarious!

edit; Wholeheartedly agree with your original post by the way. I thought Hadnot played well at times.

I can promise you Bridges knows Massie wants to start now. He's just a great teammate who is not going to hand Massie the job but will give him the knowledge to compete for it.

I would say each side knows very, very well. Whether it's spoken or written, well that's another matter entirely.

I'll try to get inside of Bridges' head here: A 9 or 10 year veteran, perennial journeyman (meant to be a compliment), never going to have a qualified OL coach declare him the savior, shown to be a good fill in and gives it a go on special teams. Works relatively cheap, above the league minimum but never an issue when it comes to managing the salary cap. OK, Bridges is getting older, he's gotta know the clock is ticking, and it's just a matter of time before a Massie or someone else moves faster and has better technique than him and Bridges finds himself on the outside of the 53 man roster looking in. So what better way to prepare for the future than to essentially become an unofficial assistant coach? Next thing you know he's got himself a gig as an NFL assistant or maybe the OL coach at his alma mater or some other college. Decent pay, nothing special but without the months long aches and pains from getting beat up every week.

Yes. These three kids we drafted will end up being starters, solid starters. They were all high value picks that went much later than projected. All three IMO will prove to be the building blocks of this OL. Massie has a chance to be the opening day starter. Kelemete is a powerful kid, I love what I have heard about him so far.

Our OL is soooo bad that we should have a waiver claim in on Otah. Put him on the bench until (Or in case) he is ever healthy enough too play again.

I think this O-line can be servicable since Grimm is a good enough coach to where he has his o-lines pay well at various times. I like the draft picks to contribute this season, all three of them. It has been proven that Bridges is more of a backup and Snyder will get pushed by the rook. I think Potter might contribute this year at RT. Massie is still learning but he's going to be good with his natural abilities. Plus they started playing better the 2nd half of last season.

the question is, how much stronger is our defense than our O-line...

Till now we can't tell how good is our o-line because we don't now how good is our defense pushing.

If our defense plays top 5 than our O-line will be good against probably 20-25 teams.

IF our Defense is a top 10 than our O-line will be good enough to be solid against 20 teams

So don't make now assumptions on the O-line and the D-line.

After the HOF Game we will probably now more, much more than we know now.

And for that post that snyder was worst 4 Guards i saw him as the worst Right Guard.

I think he could end up as cannon food for Klemente. At least I hope that Klemente pushes hard and that either Klemente wins the job or Snyder learns to put his strength in the game push harder go in the man put his weight/balance deeper and move quicker... okay probably by game 3 or 4 Klemente should have the job ;)

The 49'ers signed Leonard Davis, how did you feel about him? Just goes to show you one mans trash is another mans treasure. Can we let these guys play some football before we judge them?

But they signed him as a Guard, where he could play at a Pro Bowl level, not at OT.

You are right though, we will see.

Waaaaaaaay too soon for this.

It's funny how some on this board are already bashing the OL and we haven't had the first snap of the PRESEASON yet.
